The fruit crate with lots of colorful fruits for the play kitchen is an ideal project for crochet beginners. The trick is to get the colors as realistic as possible—that's already half the battle here. A piece like this is quick to crochet, and you can gradually increase the level of difficulty.
You start with the easy pieces: apple, peach, pear, plum, then lemon, orange... The little grapes and cherries require a bit more dexterity, but only because they are smaller. Then you continue with kiwi, banana, melon, and at the end you can try your hand at the pineapple!
