Everyone has to save money, but there still has to be room for a little joy from a beautiful project so life stays lovely. Here I’m showing you a few inexpensive patterns that can be made with just a little yarn, including leftovers if you like. From just a few grams of yarn, you can conjure up things from the heart—they’ll bring joy to you and also to whoever you might give them to.

Insoles made from leftover felting wool
They’re great for fall and winter. You can knit them very easily from leftover felting wool or real leftover wool. No need to buy them, and your feet will always be warm.



Doll fashion
The doll dresses are variable in length and are crocheted in one piece. A pretty summer hat goes with them. The doll moms will be delighted, and your leftovers will have turned into lovely new doll clothes.



Felted moccasins
You can make these warm slippers for the whole family: for yourselves, your husband, the children, friends, and guests. They have a beautiful shape and don’t require much of the inexpensive felting wool. You don’t have to buy slippers—you can make them yourself! I know little girls who even want to wear them in bed because they’re so cozy and guaranteed not to pinch.



Favorite little summer dress for dolls
For one dress, you only need 15 g of yarn in two colors and 3 snap fasteners. You’re sure to find that in your stash. With it, you can crochet cute little doll dresses and always have a surprise ready when you want to make your daughter or granddaughter happy, or when you need a gift for a child’s birthday party. I always crochet them ahead of time :-)



Heart pendant
Depending on the thickness of the yarn, the heart will be smaller or larger. It’s wonderful as a gift, a little comforter, a bag charm, or a scented hanger for the closet. It’s always easy to make from leftovers.



Swimsuit for little doll mermaids
Yes, this is part of a summer doll wardrobe too. It only takes 5 g of yarn (and I’ve already rounded that up).



Ball gown for little dolls
This doll dress is knitted. And as you can see, you can knit with different colors/leftover yarn. That makes every dress unique, and the dolls get some variety.



Colorful party dress
Depending on how much yarn you have at home, you can crochet the dress from mini to maxi. It looks good either way. So the length is variable.



Colorful craft bucket
Here, too, lots of inexpensive leftover acrylic yarn is used—one color per stripe. Inside, a plastic bucket is hidden, now given a second new life. Your current craft project goes into the bucket, and around the outside there are lots of pockets for your tools and whatever else you need. That makes it wonderfully practical, pretty, and portable.



Winter cape for little dolls
This is something from the heart. All little girls want a cape like this, with a cozy collar and edging, for their dolls and for themselves. We can start with the dolls first ;-)



DIY leather soles for felted shoes
Anyone who has already made felted shoes (see my shop with its large selection) knows that as plain felted shoes they are very slippery and therefore pose an accident risk. They absolutely need a sole underneath, either made of liquid rubber or a leather sole sewn on underneath. You can make the leather soles yourself from an old leather jacket.



Turtleneck sweater for dolls
As you can see, each sweater is a different length; anything from cropped to maxi is possible. We knit it as a top-down raglan, so we can adjust the length to the ball of yarn we have available.



3-piece doll fashion set
These are crocheted. The set consists of a slim, figure-hugging dress with a detailed bustier, a chic hat, and a small clutch.



Doll clothing
And here comes another two-piece set. It consists of a slim dress and a pretty bolero. My granddaughter’s dolls love wearing it.



Value set "Fresh Summer Fashion"
Oh, these are such fresh colors, and the fashion is so young and modern. The doll moms love it, and I love crocheting these pieces too. They only ever need a very small amount of colorful, inexpensive yarn. Alize Diva yarn is my favorite yarn because it is so smooth, shiny, and bright. That’s probably why the ladies in the photo are glowing so much too :-)

These cube boxes are perfect for using up scraps: They are made from photo cardstock, and you need less than one DIN A4 sheet.



The small boxes have edge lengths of approx. 3, 4, 5, and 6 cm. Depending on the occasion you want to use them for, you can adapt both their color to your needs and decorate them according to your own ideas.
