When you crochet hand puppets, you can use lots of leftover yarn from all kinds of different yarn types. There are no limits to your imagination here. For the face and hands, I prefer to use cotton yarn, but for the hair and body you can mix things up without any problem:

Here as an example:
Angel and Devil .
For the angel, I used the following yarn:
- 30 g Bohème Katia velvet fine(LL 160m / 50 g) teal
- 20 g Catania cotton yarn by Schachenmayr (LL 125 m / 50 g) soft apricot
- 10 g Rico Baby Glitz (LL 165 m/50g) aqua
- 8 - 10 g Primo doll yarn by Woll Butt (LL 50 m / 50 g) blond
- Leftover gold glitter yarn Gründel
- Leftover cotton yarn in black, red, white
- Leftover Creative Bubble by Rico (LL 90 m / 50 g) light blue
And for the devil:
- 30 g Bohème Velvet by GoHandmade (LL 190m / 50 g) black
- 20 g Catania cotton yarn by Schachenmayr (LL 125 m / 50 g) tomato
- 10 g Catania cotton yarn by Schachenmayr(LL 125 m / 50 g) signal red
- 8 g Primo doll yarn by Woll Butt (LL 50 m / 50 g) black
- Leftover cotton yarn in black
- Leftover Creative Bubble by Rico (LL 90 m / 50 g) red

It’s also recommended to use different yarns for the
cover for a heat pillow. To make the teddy a soft cuddly toy, I crocheted the head and paws with plush yarn, which, however, is not very heat-resistant. That’s why the body, the actual pillow cover, is made from cotton. This gives you both: a cuddly, adorable little animal that can also handle the temperature of a warmed grain pillow.

Small babies develop their senses mainly through touch. The
Mauzi cuddly cat is therefore an ideal first cuddly toy for a baby, because it is made with three kinds of yarn and different stitch patterns (single crochet and double crochet). This creates an interesting tactile feel that encourages the baby to touch and feel its cuddly toy again and again.
