Lots of colorful leftover yarn is used when crocheting
Victor the Scarecrow. The more colorful, the nicer!
I used:
Catania cotton (yardage 125 m / 50 g), specifically:
- 10 g orange (jaffa 0189)
- 10 g green (moss 0412)
- 10 g brown (maroon 0157)
- 20 g red (signal red 0115)
- leftover yellow (gold 0249)also:
- 2.5 mm crochet hook
- 1 yarn needle
- 1 round dowel, diameter 7–10 mm, l = 50 cm
- 4 craft sticks 150 x 20 mm
- 50 g natural raffia, golden yellow
- a little craft stuffing
- a small leftover piece of black felt
- sewing silk
- craft glue or wood glue
- 1 black half pearl; diameter approx. 7 mm
- possibly hot glue gun and hot glue
Victor is about 35 cm tall (without the stick) and is great as a plant stake on the windowsill or balcony.

The
“Mouse Hunt” board game. is also great for using up lots of colorful cotton leftovers. After playing, it is simply rolled up and can easily be stored anywhere. This also makes it great for vacation or the beach. A set of game rules is included in the pattern. But you can also make up your own rules for it.

If you have lots and lots of small amounts of leftover yarn, why not crochet the
figures for a finger puppet theater!
Small children especially love finger puppets because they can handle them better than larger hand puppets. With this pattern, you can crochet the 10 most important Punch and Judy characters as finger puppets.
