The Easter basket doesn’t always have to be filled with sweets! Here are a few little items that you can easily crochet from some leftover yarn and that are sure to bring lots of joy too:

Little children especially love cute finger puppets, that they can play with. Finger puppets fit in any pocket, so they can be taken anywhere. For the Easter basket, the Easter bunny family  is a perfect choice. You can use it to act out fun stories all about Easter.

Kindergarten children like to paint and scribble. They’ll have fun with these pencil toppers with Easter animals too. In between, they can take a break from drawing to play with the animals.

When elementary school children have learned to read, they are so proud of it and will be delighted with these pretty Easter bookmarks, which are very easy to crochet.

The colorful little bunnies will delight not only children. Adults can also use them nicely as decorations, e.g. as ornaments on an Easter bouquet.

Or would you prefer  colorful little birds  as decorations on an Easter bouquet?

The sweet little chickens  are also quick to crochet and make wonderful Easter decorations. Make several of them right away and use them as plant picks or gift tags too!

Crochet Pattern for a Cuddly Bunny

You’ll crochet two pieces—the front and back—which are then joined together with a round of single crochet. Only the little tail needs to be sewn on separately.

For children, the Easter hunt is probably the highlight of the holiday. Just imagine how children’s eyes will light up when they find a chocolate bunny and colorful eggs in their Easter basket.
The basket is crocheted using the tapestry technique (instructions included in the pattern) and can be reused after Easter to carry building blocks, toy cars, and much more.
