My favorite knitting technique is double knitting. It lets you create such beautiful motifs and pictures. The motif appears on both sides, but on the “back” it’s in reversed colors and mirror-inverted.

For anyone who’s already confident in “regular” knitting, double-face is a great change of pace. Here are three suggestions for projects where you can try out this knitting technique. A detailed guide to the basics of double-face knitting is always included.

These pants for toddlers from 1 year old have adjustable straps and are knitted from sock yarn. They have a pretty cable worked into the sides. The pants will grow with your child for at least 1.5 years.

Dexterity and crafting experience are absolutely necessary for this Christmas decoration: Even though the technique itself is not difficult and nothing new, there are a few small challenges when crafting these star baubles.



The beautiful stars are made from photo cardstock and decorated with a printed paper motif and glitter liner. You’ll receive templates for stars in two sizes: The small star is approx. 16 cm high, and the large star is approx. 21 cm high. Motifs to print in two sizes are included as well.

The “Cool Temptation” poncho does require some experience with the lace pattern.
But the effort is worth it; the size can easily be adjusted by making the center section taller.

The triangular shawl is knitted mainly with various slipped-stitch patterns, but lace patterns are also included. All patterns are explained in detail, but constant concentration is required.
All you need is 200g of sock-weight yarn; the original was knitted with Silky Yak.

A lovely project for advanced crocheters can be found in the crochet pattern for the “Perlenreigen” pentagonal shawl . If you’re not afraid of slightly more time-consuming projects that require a bit of concentration—and if you can read crochet charts—you can crochet a gorgeous shawl with this pattern.



If you’d like to try crocheting something other than shawls, you can put your skills to the test with the crochet pattern for the “Rosenstrauch” soul warmer . The patterns require some concentration and perseverance, but in the end, you’ll be rewarded with a beautiful result that’s perfect for snuggling up in.

This project also requires a bit of crafting experience: The unusual explosion box will only work properly if you work carefully and precisely. The same applies to the never-ending card that can be added to the box.

Winter Dream Door Wreath

This explosion box consists of simple shapes, but to ensure everything fits together well in the end and the box works properly, you should have some crafting experience and work very precisely and carefully.



The explosion box is made of cardstock, decorated with patterned paper, and measures approximately 12.5 x 9.5 x 14.5 cm. The small inner compartments measure approximately 9 x 6 x 7 cm.

The card, which opens in a spiral, offers plenty of space for Christmas greetings, photos, sayings, and the like.
