What would a Sunday be without needlework? Something would really be missing. In any case, I always get quite grumpy if I can’t just relax and crochet or knit something. I simply love it, and it makes me happy.
Here are a few suggestions for lovely handmade projects that you can start or even finish in a weekend. I hope you enjoy looking at them and making them yourself.
Warm regards from Ina
Doorstop “Sandbag”
Crochet pattern - Especially now in summer, when all the doors are always open, there’s the risk of a draft. And then doors slam and windows rattle. And if the grandchild happens to have their fingers in the door frame too—oh dear. It doesn’t have to be that way. I simply crocheted myself some doorstops. They each weigh 4.5 kg and hold every door in the right position.
Ball Gown with Tulle Underskirt
Oh, little girls with their dolls are always so absorbed in their doll play. When the dolls are also wearing such beautiful handmade dresses, it’s even nicer. Not a store-bought plastic dress, but one lovingly crocheted by Grandma or Mom in the child’s favorite color, is simply wonderful. It’s perfect for playing princess.
Round Rug “Colorful”
This is also a lovely weekend project. Here we can finally use up our many colorful bits of leftover yarn by crocheting them. In the end, we have a completely unique rug—one that exists only once in the whole world. I always like these colorful rugs and look forward to the next color in every round, because that’s what creates the play of colors.
