Advanced knitters can really have fun with double-face knitting. Here I’m presenting three different patterns, all knitted in double-face. If you don’t know this knitting technique yet but would like to try it, you’ll find a free pattern for the double-face basics here.

If you prefer to crochet, you’ll also find all the featured motifs as crochet patterns in my shop.




Double-face knitting pattern placemat "Paris" - with this placemat, you can dream yourself away to the City of Love while you’re still knitting... :-)





Double-face knitting pattern cuddle cloth / washcloth "Elo Elephant" - this cloth is a wonderful companion from birth for many years. First it serves as a cuddle cloth, and later it’s a super-soft washcloth for the face.





Double-face knitting pattern cloth "Love Birds" - this motif can be knitted as a cuddle cloth, washcloth, dishcloth, or potholder, depending on the yarn used.

You can crochet intarsia patterns too! This uses the so-called tapestry technique, where the yarn of the color not being used is carried along and crocheted over. In my patterns, I explain exactly how it works.

This pretty "Beach Life" beach bag  was made using this technique. To make the stitches line up exactly on top of each other and not be offset, double stitches are also crocheted. This also makes the bag nice and sturdy. In the pattern, I explain these stitches to you step by step with individual pictures.


To match the beach bag, you can also crochet the "Beach Life" glasses case  for your sunglasses.
The glasses case is also a good choice if you first want to get familiar with the new technique.

For this very special triangular shawl, you’ll need some crochet experience. In addition to conventional crochet, hairpin lace and ruler crochet are used. But it’s worth it. The Janis hippie shawl is designed in boho style and is just right for this summer. You can find the pattern in my Blickfang-Design store.

Cleopatra’s Labyrinth is a varied triangular shawl.
It’s knitted with 200g of sock-weight yarn; the two colors should contrast strongly,
as the pattern involves a lot of slipped stitches.
All patterns are explained in detail, and most include a chart.
