Well, what would I take with me on a hiking or city vacation? I would definitely, always and everywhere I travel, take my own slippers with me. Every hotel room or vacation apartment is different; they often have easy-care and cold tile or laminate floors. And when you come back to your accommodation after a hike, there’s nothing nicer than slipping into your warm and soft felt slippers.
Of my many designs, I would take the moccasins on the trip because they don’t take up much space in your luggage. For children, ballerinas would also work.
Felt Moccasins
You can make them in all your favorite colors and sizes.
Felt Boots with a Roll Collar
Before they become boots, they always start out as ballerinas. So you can always make both ballerinas and, for winter, felt boots with a roll collar. Be sure to let your children have a say in the color. Later, they usually won’t want to take them off at all because they’re so comfortable and you don’t sweat in them.
“Featherlight” Loop Scarf
A loop scarf is also a must-have on a city or hiking vacation. This one is made from very soft cashmere yarn and weighs only 50 g. It always fits in your luggage. It is breathable and warms and protects the sensitive neck area. If there’s a draft somewhere (air conditioning or weather conditions), you’ll be glad you brought it along.
The slim ones among you could also wear it as a bolero. The same applies here: small piece, big impact, both visually and in terms of comfort. I wear my loop scarves all year round :-)
I hope you enjoy looking at them and making them yourself ... and of course, have a wonderful vacation.
