Granny squares are versatile. For a pillow or a blanket, for example.

This is one of 8 granny squares, all of which are the same size. So you can crochet a colorful patterned blanket.

When you’re spending more time outside on the patio or in the garden again, it’s nice to be able to protect your drink from wasps or other pesky insects.
