It looks like winter is far from over. So it’s definitely worth knitting a few more stylish accessories right away. Why not get started this weekend—maybe you need a headband? Or matching wrist warmers? Both patterns are knitted in Doubleface. The headband is a great project for Doubleface beginners. How about oven mitts that become an eye-catcher in the kitchen? These ladybirds are sure to be loved and are simply impossible to miss. They also make a lovely surprise as a Valentine’s Day gift. They’re very easy to crochet, even for beginners who have crocheted before.

Nancy Triangle Shawl

If you’d like to crochet something for Valentine’s Day this weekend, I have a few suggestions for you here:

 Herzibär
He looks at you with his big eyes and wants to be hugged and cuddled. Everything about him expresses love: the heart-shaped eyes, ears, paws, nose, the neckerchief decorated with little hearts, and of course the red or pink color. Who wouldn’t love Herzibär?

Heart in a Heart
As decoration for a romantic dinner: With the “Heart in a Heart” cutlery holder, you can say without words: “I always carry you in my heart.” The heart can also be used as a coaster. It’s quick to crochet from just a few bits of leftover yarn.

Gingerbread Heart Potholder
The two potholders shaped like gingerbread hearts also make great Valentine’s Day gifts. Write your very own personal saying on them. It’s very easy, because the lettering is simply made from foundation chains that are shaped accordingly and sewn on.

Pot holders, affectionately called “Pottlappen,” are always a good idea. They’re quick to make, practical, and with the maritime motifs, decorative too.
