It’s probably too late this year for a crocheted Christmas nativity scene, but it’s a long-term project anyway. Since Christmas will probably be quieter and more contemplative this year, you could start it during the holidays.
The nativity figures are about 10 cm tall and can be crocheted from leftover yarn. It’s best to start with the Holy Family:

You can finish Mary, Joseph and the Baby Jesus in 2–3 afternoons, then the poinsettia, ox and donkey can follow.

Once you’ve enjoyed making them, you can expand your nativity scene however you like. For example, with the shepherds, sheep and the Christmas angel:

And finally come the Three Wise Men

with their pack animals. In the pattern, these are a camel, an elephant and a horse.

You’ll see, you’re sure to enjoy this project! You can pause it at any time, because the individual figures are quick to crochet, and pick it up again throughout the year whenever you have the time and feel like it.

What could be nicer at Christmas time than little angels you’ve crocheted yourself! White crochet yarn—or even leftover yarn—a crochet hook, some beads, and a little time. These decorations are quick to make and bring joy for a long time when given as gifts.

I’d like to suggest a wonderful decoration that can be made quickly and easily in three steps . First, you’ll need to do a little crocheting, then fold the piece, and finally embellish it with beads. These decorations are perfect as Christmas tree ornaments (approx. 8 cm x 10 cm).

No snow outside this winter? Hand-crocheted snowflakes—placed in a window, for example—bring a touch of winter and, of course, Christmas spirit. The snowflakes are ideal as coasters for tea lights or mugs, or as Christmas tree ornaments.

The angel wings are not just a decoration idea for Christmas—they are a beautiful symbol of protection all year round.

The angel wings are very easy and quick to crochet, even for ambitious beginners with a little practice, and can be used in many ways, e.g. as a keychain or gift tag. That makes them a loving gift for someone you’d like to send on their way with a guardian angel.
