Decorative, functional, and useful—a great mix that brings long-lasting joy. First you get to make something beautiful by hand, and then you can enjoy it for a long time because you can use it. Here are my suggestions for you. I hope you enjoy looking at them and making them yourself. For more pictures, information, and the pattern, just click on the headings.
Warm regards from Ina
Square Colorful Rug
It’s fun to crochet. It has a rubberized back and brightens up any child’s room. If you make it in the colors of the child’s room, everything matches especially nicely.
Colorful Craft Bucket
It has lots of compartments all around for crochet hooks and the like. The current craft project goes into the bucket. That way you always have everything together and can move from place A to place B. You can also fill it with yarn and give it to a crafting friend as a gift.
“Rustico” Rug
Here you can easily make yourself a rug for the hallway. We work with several strands at the same time, so an interesting play of colors develops all by itself. It gets its stability from the clothesline carried along inside.
Small Basket with a Sturdy Base
This is always useful as a gift. The double base is sturdy thanks to an incorporated CD. The pattern looks very appealing because of the worked-in bobbles. I made these baskets for my grandchildren for Easter. They proudly took them home and still keep little treasures in them today.
Round “Colorful” Rug
This is also a lovely project for a child’s room. You can choose the colors freely, and it’s fun to keep coming up with new color sequences. In the end, you’ll have a one-of-a-kind rug. We crochet with multiple strands, and the back is rubberized so it won’t slip.
Christmas or Gift Bag
A small bag for the Christmas season. You can use it to give one or more gifts. It looks pretty, and later the bag can continue to be used as a bag or as decoration.
Crocheted Wall Clock
This is a combined crochet and craft project. The clock itself is crocheted, then we harden it. The whole thing is then mounted on a round canvas. The result is a completely unique wall clock. The sources for the materials I used are listed in the pattern.
Square Basket with Mesh Pattern
Always useful—for example, for your own craft supplies or magazines. The bottom of the basket is double-layered and sturdy thanks to an inserted piece of cardboard. You can crochet the basket in different sizes.
“Spirella” Rug
A nice project even for crochet beginners. We crochet with 3 strands, so we make quick progress. The back is rubberized so the rug won’t slip. It has a diameter of 75 cm.
Large Basket with Bobbles
You can never have enough beautiful and decorative baskets. This one stands out with its pretty bobble pattern and wide folded rim. The double base is very sturdy.
French Knitter Rug
The children will love it, because the rug is super colorful—as colorful as you want it to be. First we crochet a net. Then we make lots and lots of cords with the French knitter (don’t worry, I describe it very precisely, and it’s a crank-style French knitter, which works wonderfully). The cords are then threaded through the net. Go all the way around, and a unique rug for the child’s room is finished.
“Rustico” Basket
You can make this basket in your favorite colors. We crochet with several colors at the same time, creating an individual play of colors. For stability and shape, we carry a clothesline along with the basket. But we crochet it in, so it can’t be seen. You can make the basket in any sizes and shapes you like.
Storage Basket for Hanging
Girls love it. You can store your treasures in it, and the storage basket is also portable because it is worked onto a clothes hanger. That way you can carry it from room A to room B or even take it along to a friend’s house. Or fill it and give it to a little girl as a gift.
2 Colorful Little Buckets for Odds and Ends
Very pretty and practical for the desk. You don’t have to keep your scissors, rulers, and pens in an old can—there’s a prettier way. These two former yogurt buckets prove it. They were given a colorful cover.
Small Square Basket with Handle
Always lovely for many occasions or as a little decoration: a small basket with a handle.
Mosaic Blanket Made of Squares
This children’s blanket is beautiful, decorative, and functional. You can cover yourself with it, play with it, or simply spread it out decoratively during the day. We crochet lots of squares, which are then joined together to make a blanket.
“Sandsack” Doorstop
This 4-kg heavy doorstop guarantees that your open doors stay where they are. Drafts no longer stand a chance, and all little fingers are safe. On top of that, my grandson always practices “weightlifting” with the doorstop.
