If you spontaneously feel like doing some crafting on the weekend, you definitely MUST have the yarn and the right needles—otherwise, unfortunately, nothing will work. So here are my suggestions, where I think you all have everything at home and can get started right away.
I hope you have lots of fun looking and making them.
Best wishes and have a lovely weekend, Ina
Crochet pattern Doorstop “Sandbag”
You can crochet it using my recommended yarn or your leftover yarns. It weighs 4 kg and reliably holds any door open or closed. My grandson Oskar likes to practice “weightlifting” with it—and he also thinks it’s Santa’s sack and that something for him is hidden inside :-)
Knitting pattern “Universal Cowl for the Whole Family”
This would be perfect for fall weather. A warm cowl protects your neck and looks fashionable too. You can knit it for yourself, the kids, your husband, or a friend. You’re sure to find 100 g for the kids’ cowl or 200 g for an adult cowl in your yarn stash. The beautiful pattern, and with colorful yarns the color gradient, develops all by itself.
Turtleneck Sweater for Small Dolls
This is also a lovely weekend craft project, and you only need 20 g of yarn for it. We knit a top-down raglan sweater with a set of double-pointed needles. The doll moms are sure to be happy about it, and the kids will certainly be much more willing to put on their own turtleneck sweaters if their doll is wearing one too. The length of the sweater is variable, as the cable continues evenly downward.
