What absolutely belongs with Christmas and Advent decorations?

All children are delighted by a surprise in the Advent calendar:

The little fir forest is both decoration and Advent calendar: Under each of the little fir trees  there is a small surprise hidden. That way, the wait until Christmas Eve doesn’t feel so long.

Cute finger puppets are perfect as fillers for the Advent calendar or as Secret Santa gifts:
Snowman, Santa Claus and moose
are quickly crocheted from a few bits of leftover yarn.

What would Christmas be without a nativity scene?
Nativity figures don’t have to be expensive, because you can crochet them yourself from leftover yarn. The figures shown here are about 10 cm tall.
 Holy Family, ox, donkey, poinsettia

 Shepherds, sheep, Christmas angel

Three Wise Men with animals

... and angels are, of course, also impossible to imagine Christmas without:

 Heavenly Orchestra
The little angels are about 8 cm tall and are also suitable as Christmas tree ornaments, gift tags, or little guardian angels.
Or would you prefer something bigger?

 Guardian Angel Night Light
The illuminated angel is about 20 cm tall. The light is controlled by remote control.

And for many people, Santa Claus comes at Christmas:
Santa Claus with sleigh and reindeer
Sleigh, reindeer, Santa Claus and sack are not permanently attached to each other, so they can be decorated differently again and again. This decoration is also suitable as an Advent calendar if you fill the sack with a different surprise every day.

Um... or was it the Easter Bunny?

No! It is Santa Claus after all!
An original decoration is the reversible doll "Nikolausi-Osterhasi", which you can set up as Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny depending on the season.

A loyal helper of Santa Claus is Rudy with the red nose:
Moose keychain
or

Mini door wreath with moose

or
Reindeer coin purse

and the gnomes help Santa Claus too:

Star gnome

And how do we wrap the gifts?

These crocheted gift bags are sustainable gift wrapping that you can use again every year, and you can crochet them in any size. Especially oddly shaped gifts can be wrapped easily and decoratively this way.

The glittering snowflakes in 3 designs made from sponge yarn are super quick and easy to crochet and can be used in many ways as decorations, e.g. as Christmas tree ornaments, gift tags, on an Advent wreath, and much more.

The smooth, shiny fringes of the sponge yarn create atmospheric, sparkling light reflections.
The sponge yarn is so dimensionally stable that you don’t have to go through the trouble of stiffening the snowflakes after crocheting them. So all you need is sponge yarn, a crochet hook, and scissors to make these snowflakes.

Difficulty level: very easy, well suited for beginners with some experience
Crochet stitches used: magic ring start, crocheting in rounds, chain stitches, slip stitches, single crochet, and double crochet.
Includes color crochet charts for the 3 designs

You can find the crochet pattern for the glittering snowflakes here

Are you already looking for an original idea for a Christmas door wreath? Then you might really like this one: Traditional Christmas colors meet modern geometric shapes here, resulting in a unique decoration.

The wreath is very easy to recreate and even a crafting beginner can pull it off. It’s made of photo cardstock, decorated with glitter liner, and measures approximately 30 x 30 cm.

The Christmas mice are coming.
They not only like cheese, but you can also nicely tuck the mice you want to give as gifts
into their cheese.

If you want to make this Advent calendar, it’s best to start right away, because like most calendars, this one takes some time, and due to a few special features, it might take a little longer.

The Advent calendar is made of photo cardstock and measures approximately 17.5 x 22 x 20.5 cm. To ensure everything fits together properly in the end, it’s very important to work with precision.

If you haven’t dared to try making this calendar yet, now’s the time to give it a shot, because I’ve completely revised the pattern: all the steps are now described in even greater detail and accompanied by pictures.

You definitely need this pattern, because aside from the fact that an explosion box is always great for a nice surprise, this one is quick and easy to recreate and can be adapted to any occasion by choosing the right colors and patterned paper.

The box is made of photo cardstock, decorated with patterned paper (which is included as a file), and measures approximately 10 x 10 x 10 cm. The two drawer boxes each measure approximately 9.8 x 5 x 9.5 cm, and the tea light holder card measures approximately 9.8 x 9.8 cm.
