Anja Cowl

The modern Anja cowl is absolutely beginner-friendly. It is crocheted in a shell pattern made of double treble crochet stitches. This makes the work go very quickly, and you’ll have your cowl finished before it gets really cold.

This pentagonal shawl is just right for cooler summer evenings. Its shape makes it wonderfully snug and ideal to wear as a shoulder shawl. It’s also perfect as a neck scarf. The patterns are easy to memorize and can be mastered even by beginners with basic knowledge of “crocheting shawls.”

Would you like to crochet a different shawl shape instead of the classic triangular shawls, and preferably something that isn’t too complicated? Then you’ve come to the right place. My Dragon’s Tail is a great project for relaxed crocheting in the evening in front of the TV, quick to make and a real eye-catcher when it’s finished. The continuously repeating patterns are easy to memorize and are manageable even for beginners.

Are you a beginner and want to practice a few stitches you’ve learned without having to puzzle over it or count too much?  Then you’ve come to the right place. My asymmetrical triangular shawl “Elsa” turns out nice and large and is easy to crochet without having to think too much. A beautiful cable pattern gives the shawl that special something.

If you haven’t been doing paper crafts for very long and don’t quite feel confident using a craft knife yet, these simple window decorations are a great opportunity to practice a little.

These autumn leaves are made from photo cardstock and tracing paper, and measure approximately 18.3 to 19.2 cm wide and approximately 23.2 to 26.5 cm high.

Scarf Nassima
a great beginner project

-- to the pattern --

The scarf is quick to crochet on the side—the lace pattern may look complicated at first glance, but it isn’t. You only need to know chain stitches, double crochet and treble crochet .

As always, the pattern includes many helpful photos and describes step by step how you can crochet this scarf even as a beginner with basic knowledge.
For more advanced crocheters, there is also a crochet chart.

The scarf shown is 175 cm long and 25 cm wide, but it can easily be adjusted in length and width. It was crocheted using 2 balls of Gründl Lisa Print (yardage 133 m/50 g).

Tintosola Scarf
crocheted using only chain stitches and double crochet

-- to the pattern --

The scarf is easy to crochet, the lace pattern is easy to memorize and repeats every few rows.

The pattern is, as always, richly illustrated and explains step by step how even a beginner with basic skills can crochet this scarf. For advanced crocheters, there is also a crochet chart.

The scarf shown is 210 cm long and 28 cm wide, but it can easily be adjusted in length and width.
A 4-ply gradient cake yarn 150 g/570 m (50% cotton, 50% acrylic, running length approx. 190 m/50 g) was used.
