Marika Headband

Mary Hat

A hat or headband is especially great for crafting on the go. You only need a little material, it takes up hardly any space and doesn’t weigh much either. You’ll find these and other patterns in my store, Blickfang-Design. Come visit me there and browse my lovely patterns.

The first gingerbread cookies have been spotted!
These gingerbread hearts are useful and guaranteed not to make you gain weight!

The potholders can be decorated with a very personal message, turning them into a unique and original gift that is sure to get lots of use in the kitchen. The lettering is made from foundation chains, which are shaped into letters and sewn on.

A nice little project for spare moments that’s perfect for late summer and fall is the cute Sunflower Girl. She’s about 12 cm tall, and the sunflower is 20 cm high. The flower girl has flexible arms and legs with a bit of wire worked into them. This lets you pose her in all sorts of different positions.
Together with a bouquet of real sunflowers or a potted sunflower, she turns your flowers into a truly personal gift.
You can use leftover yarn to crochet her.

Little gnomes are perfect for crocheting on the go or in between using leftover yarn. This cute family can be filled with little surprises and makes an excellent Advent calendar for young and old alike.

Note: As an Advent calendar, I recommend the value set with the gnome house, which will then be THE surprise as a larger gift on December 24.

The gnomes are very easy to crochet, even for beginners with basic skills.

this makes bath time for the little ones a fun animal adventure, quickly crocheted from sponge yarn, lightly filled with washable stuffing and fully washable overall, so hygiene isn’t neglected even after bath time, and Mouse is ready for the next round of fun    Here’s the pattern

If you ever want to make a little something that’s easy and quick to finish, these leaves are a great option. Hung in the window, they’ll add a little more color to fall.

These fall leaves are made from photo cardstock and transparent paper and measure about 16 to 20 cm. They’re very easy to make and well-suited even for beginners.

This fish is a great project to crochet on the go. I imagine you could also crochet it using a different yarn and lightly stuff it with stuffing—then it makes a cute little amigurumi as a gift for children.

Dishcloths are always a lovely little gift to bring along for a coffee visit or barbecue evening.

This pattern is a great way to use up your leftover yarn. The pattern is just one row long, and thanks to its size, this crochet project will still find a little spot in your handbag.

Knitting socks is always a good idea. Here I’ll show you spiral socks. They are knitted without a heel, so you simply work the pattern in rounds all the way to the toe.

Spiral socks fit a wide range of sizes and hug the foot snugly. With this pattern, you can knit spiral socks from sizes 14–18 up to shoe sizes 46–47.

Feel like crafting but short on ideas? Here’s a little something to spark your creativity: While the basic shape of the pencil holder is set, there are almost no limits when it comes to colors and decorations!

The pencil holder is made of cardstock, about 11 cm wide and 8 cm tall. It’s easy to make and well suited even for capable beginners. Tip: The holder can also be used as a container for small office supplies, such as paper clips, push pins, erasers, and the like.

Tairu is great to crochet in between other things.
You’ll need between half a day and a full day to finish it.

On its own on a simple table, Tairu is a small eye-catcher.
You can also make a table runner or a pillow front from several pieces.

The PDF file contains 5 pages.

Konrei can be used as a bracelet or as a bookmark.
Here, 4 circles were sewn together—they’re quick to crochet—and finished with a small carabiner clasp.

The PDF file is one page long and suitable for beginners.

Asuteri is also a quick in-between project,
For this little star coaster, a small bit of leftover yarn in your favorite colors is enough.

These colorful little bags are an ideal project for spare moments; you can make them in advance and customize the colors for any gift-giving occasion.

The bags are made from photo cardstock and, measuring approximately 10.5 x 8.5 x 4.5 cm (without the handle), are just big enough to hold small gifts like good-luck charms, jewelry, key chains, and similar items.

The OLIVIA headband in two variations is perfect as a little in-between project!

With a ball of yarn and a crochet hook, you can crochet yourself a beautiful, warm headband with a knitted look while riding the train (or bus/subway)!

And because it’s so quick and easy, you can make one for half the family while relaxing on the couch in the evening ♥

If you have a small craft project in your bag, it doesn’t matter whether you take the same train route to work every day or have to sit in a doctor’s waiting room. You always have something to do that’s fun and helps you make progress. Since you have to carry it around, it should be something simple in terms of the pattern and not too heavy. Here are my recommendations. For more pictures, information, and the pattern itself, please just click on the headings.

I hope you enjoy browsing and making them.
Best wishes - Yours, Ina

1. Little Doll Dress with Top

This 2-piece set consists of a full, swishy skirt in a variable length and a short matching top. Both pieces close at the back with a snap fastener. A few grams of yarn are enough—whether solid-colored or colorful—and you’ll have some pretty doll clothes that will delight any little doll mom. You can also make them ahead of time now and then to delight children and grandchildren. They also make ideal party favors for girls’ birthdays ;-)

2. Mosaic Blanket Made of Squares

An ideal crochet project for on the go or for working in small sections. First we crochet looooots of identical squares in different colors. It’s pure diligence work and can be done anywhere. Then comes the work for home: we crochet all the squares together. Finally, add a decorative border around it, and a beautiful and original children’s blanket is finished.

3. Colorful Advent Calendar

This, too, is a wonderful crochet project for any situation where you want to pass the time with a handmade project. Here we crochet 24 colorful pockets, which are then put together and decorated as an Advent calendar. The pattern also includes the printable template for the stars with the numbers 1 to 24. You can arrange the pockets on a pretty plate, clip them to a line with clothespins, or hang them on a hanger. There are many ways to display the 24 pockets. Nicely decorated and filled, they delight both the eye and the stomach.

After Christmas, you can fill them with small gifts and arrange them on the breakfast plate as a surprise. And they’re great for Easter too.

Coasters Fanny
quick to crochet in between

-- to the pattern --

The colorful coasters are a great eye-catcher for your table.

With basic crochet skills these coasters can be crocheted very quickly.
As always, the pattern is richly illustrated and describes in detail all 3 variations (2-color, 3-color, 4-color).

Just under 10 g of cotton yarn (e.g. Gründl Cotton Fun, yardage 115 m/50 g) was used for each coaster.
They have a diameter of approx. 11 cm.

These little pennants are very easy to crochet on the go. You will need knowledge of single crochet, half double crochet, and double crochet.

Whether as a party garland or personalized with the baby's name, they also make a lovely gift

Crochet pattern for a balloon cover

Individual granny squares are crocheted and then sewn together at the end to form a ball. The balloon is well protected while playing, and the cover dries quickly again after washing.
