In my opinion, Christmas shouldn't mainly be about gifts, but about spending a wonderful time with family / friends / loved ones and reflecting on what is truly important in life.

But Christmas completely without gifts would of course be silly too ;-) That's why I think it's all the more wonderful when you give a gift where the material value isn't the focus, but rather one into which you've put a lot of work and love. Below you'll find a few ideas for loving gifts for little and big people you care about:

Knitting pattern for potholders "Flamingo Love"
-  knitted in double-face with cotton, they are a useful and very decorative accessory in any kitchen (the colors can of course be adjusted as desired to match the kitchen decor).

Pattern for mini bread basket "Breakfast for You"
- the base is crocheted, the rest is knitted in double-face. With its bright colors, the basket spreads good cheer right at breakfast. As a Christmas gift, perhaps you could add a voucher for having breakfast together :-)

Pattern for bread basket "Breakfast for Two"
- the base is crocheted in a heart shape, the rest is knitted in double-face. The bread basket for two is a lovely gift for your own partner or for a couple in love. When presenting the gift, the basket can be nicely filled, for example, with heart-shaped chocolates.

Pattern for bread basket "Have a lovely day" - the XXL version offers enough space for rolls and pastries for the whole family. As a Christmas gift, you can fill the bread basket with baked cookies when you hand it over. The basket base is crocheted, the rest is knitted in double-face.

Pattern for washcloth / comfort blanket "Elo Elefant" - for the littlest ones, Elo Elefant, which is great as a comfort blanket or washcloth, makes a pretty gift. The cloth is knitted in double-face, and the border with hearts is crocheted.

Pattern for beanie "Hearts" for head circumference 50-54 cm - knitted in double-face with cozy yarn, this beanie will quickly become the new favorite hat. It can be knitted in the child's favorite colors and worn on both sides. The size is easy to adjust.

Pattern for beanie "Mariposa" for head circumference 52-56 cm - this beanie is also knitted in double-face and can therefore be worn on either side. The size can easily be adjusted for a different head circumference.

Pattern for cowl "My first love"
- this cowl for children, knitted in double-face, is really lovely to snuggle into.

Pattern for cowl "Dancing Ballerina" - this double-face knitted cowl will make children's eyes light up under the Christmas tree! Little ballerinas will love it, and it also keeps them nice and warm.

Pattern for beanie and cowl "Love & Energy" value set
- a wonderful Christmas gift for a good friend or for yourself! The Chinese characters stand for love and energy, and that's something you really like to surround yourself with. Both pieces are knitted in double-face and are also available separately in my shop.

Even though it will still be a little while before Christmas is actually here, I already wish you a wonderful time getting ready!

Well, actually, almost any homemade gift is perfect for Christmas—as long as it’s not an Easter bunny....
Or maybe it is???

Well, this Easter bunny transforms in the blink of an eye into Santa Claus! Now that’s a practical gift you can bring out again at Easter, too!
This reversible doll isn’t hard to crochet and is a lot of fun! Here’s what I used:
  • Cotton yarn (approx. 125 m/50 g, e.g., Catania by Schachenmayr or Camilla by Woll Butt) in light brown, light green, red, and soft apricot
(about 1 skein of the red yarn, and less than
one skein of each of the other colors)
  • Fuzzy yarn (Doudou by Lang Yarns, length 155 m / 50 g) leftover
  • Catania Fine in white (leftover)
  • Crochet hook size 2.5
  • Polyester stuffing
  • Thick sewing needle for sewing and joining the pieces
  • 1 pointed embroidery needle for embroidering the face
  • Embroidery floss in black, red, and brown
  • Safety eyes (optional)
Maybe you have similar yarn at home and can get started right away.
If so, click right here to go to the crochet pattern for “Nikolausi-Osterhasi”!

You can always give a little angel as a gift, but at Christmas it’s an especially fitting present!

This guardian angel night light is a comfort for all children who don’t like falling asleep in the dark. The crocheted angel stands over an LED lamp that you can operate with a remote control. The gentle light brightens the room a little but doesn’t disturb healthy sleep. This way, the little angel protects your child’s sleep and gives them sweet dreams.

An angel hand puppet is also a lovely idea. If you already have a puppet theater, she can join the ensemble right away; if not, she might be the first puppet among many self-crocheted figures!
(If you’re interested in more crocheted hand puppets , click on the blue text!

And here is a small musical angel, meant to bring good luck as a keychain or bag charm.  If you make several of them, you can put together a whole orchestra. Isn’t that an adorable decoration?

Often, a cash gift is simply the best choice so that the recipient can put it toward a bigger wish. But it can still be packaged in a loving and personal way—like with this funny reindeer purse. It can also be used later to store makeup, jewelry, or other small items.

Rock Christmas!!

What should you sew for Dad, your husband, your son?
That question causes despair every year. But with the sewn guitar you really can’t go wrong. The pattern is super easy. A 9-year-old (!!!) sewed the guitar during pattern testing.

You can design the sewn guitar however you like, adding patches, embroidery, ribbons, iron-on designs... Go wild! With a personal message, it’s THE hit under the tree :).

The ebook includes 2 sewing patterns for 2 guitar shapes, each in 2 sizes. In addition to the pattern, I’ve included a detailed lookbook with lots of fantastic design examples.

Have fun sewing! ->> Here’s the pattern

P.S.: For some reason, the pictures of the sewing guitar weren’t saved :(. You can find the pattern here!

Before the Christmas gifts, there’s also the Advent calendar. These little gnomes look especially cute. Every day, a new gnome appears on the table, filled with a little surprise. And on December 24, all the gnomes get to move into their house. Of course, only after the big surprise has been unwrapped.

They’re very easy to crochet, even for beginners with basic skills. This is also a great way to use up leftover yarn. The more colorful the gnomes are, the prettier they look.

I’m not even thinking about Christmas gifts yet—I still have four birthdays to figure out first, and another one right after Christmas. Especially since my husband and I don’t think Christmas gifts should be such a big deal; in all the consumerist hype, the true spirit of Christmas gets pushed way to the back.
The things you’re showing here are all beautiful :-)

This bag belongs on every Puky, tricycle, or balance bike. Whether it’s brand new under the Christmas tree or already part of the little ones’ fleet. Good crochet experience is recommended for this.

A door hanger like this is a very special gift, because it replaces a key. Whether on the restroom door, the bathroom door, the children’s room door, or the study door—these cute door guards are a hit everywhere, especially with children.

So everyone can have their own, they come in two different versions—as a bear or as an owl.
Note: The pattern is also available together as a value set.

Something that always goes over well is a tissue-box cover like this in favorite colors and matching the décor. It’s quick to crochet from leftover yarn and is sure to bring joy. More than just decoration, because everyone needs tissues—from babies to grandparents.

Of course, the small tissue pouch that fits in any handbag is a must, too. A small gift, such as a banknote, can also be hidden nicely among the tissues. Very easy to make.

A bag for the little ones with an adjustable strap—either as a kindergarten bag or ideal for travel or outings. The most important treasures can find a home in it.

The bag has a double base and is quite sturdy. The strap can be adjusted to 3 lengths.

From age 2.5 years, this colorful knitted cardigan with hood and pockets made from merino wool (top-down raglan) will fit. Good knitting experience is recommended.

A baby sleeping bag is, of course, a must too. Every baby needs one; it’s warm, comfortable, and cuddly. This one, made from soft merino wool, is easy to knit and an ideal gift for a little sweetheart.

Leggings are also indispensable for babies and toddlers. They move with every motion, so they’re super comfortable and fit perfectly. That way they keep little ones nice and cozy warm on walks or while playing and crawling on the floor. Of course, the design also takes into account that even the chunkiest diaper bottom fits comfortably inside.

A baby blanket is, of course, also part of a baby layette. Here you can knit lots of loving energy into it, which will show when you give it as a gift.

This sweater is knitted from cozy, warm sock yarn—with pops of color from orange leftovers. Easy to make for experienced knitters. Fits sizes 86–98.

Of course, a little dress or skirt is a must for little girls. Styles that grow with the child for a while and can therefore be worn for a long time are especially popular. That makes Grandma’s or Mom’s work worthwhile. Here I’m presenting a few styles with these features. They all have little hearts knitted in and are easy to make.

The colorful skirt for toddlers 3–4 years has no hearts knitted in, but it does fall beautifully in pleats and is sure to bring joy with its variety of colors. It can be knitted from cotton for summer, or from wool with the same yardage for winter.

Doll clothes are especially popular. They’ll make every little doll mom’s eyes light up with joy. Especially when the baby doll looks like a real baby in them.
The following models fit dolls (or teddy bears) measuring 45-50 cm - including Baby Born. This clothing can also be knitted for small newborns.
All models are easy to make with the pattern.

This could be baby’s first cuddly teddy bear. You can manage it well even as a knitting beginner. The baby will love it dearly.

Of course, this little bear needs matching clothes too. You can give a sweater and a sleeping bag along with it. It also fits other little bears about 35–40 cm tall.

For mothers, grandmas, or friends, you can knit a button-up collar scarf. It’s sure to be well received and bring joy. Especially great for anyone who doesn’t like wearing scarves, because it can be worn both buttoned up and open. And it’s also very easy to knit, something beginners with basic knowledge can manage too.
There are two different models with buttons

This round collar is also very easy for beginners to knit and looks just as wonderful.

How about warm wrist warmers, for example these with a “mock cable pattern,” something very special. Any woman whose hands get cold easily will be delighted.
For experienced knitters.

To the knitting pattern

The gentlemen will be happy with a warm vest with a classic cable pattern. It goes with just about anything. For experienced knitters.

The most classic gift of all is still socks. If you haven’t dared to try them yet, give the brilliantly simple mowi heel a try. 4 different sizes are described step by step, so they’re very easy to make.

A scarf, cowl, or stole — that’s also an ideal Christmas gift. Here you can choose according to your preference, and with this pattern you can also easily adjust the length and width to suit your wishes. For experienced knitters.

And one last gift that’s needed in every  kitchen — oven mitts. These are very easy for beginners to crochet too and are something special, because as lucky ladybugs they bring good luck.

Men’s Scarf Quattuor
a beautiful scarf, not just for men

-- to the pattern --

The scarf is a simple scarf with a subtle pattern and a few narrow red stripes.

The pattern is, as always, richly illustrated and describes all steps in detail . A crochet chart is also included. Since only basic crochet skills are required, the pattern is also great for beginners .

The scarf shown is 220 cm long and 33 cm wide - but it can easily be adjusted in length and width.
It was crocheted using 4-strand yarn cake, 150 g/570 m (50% cotton, 50% acrylic, yardage approx. 190 m/50 g).

This sparkly drawstring gym bag “Life is magic” is a very special gift for every unicorn fan 😀 It is knitted in double-face (with glitter thread); only the bottom is crocheted in single crochet stitches. The pattern is described and illustrated in great detail, so anyone who can knit double-face will be able to make this work of art successfully.
