Now that the whole family is home, everyone wants some peace and quiet now and then—and to simply close the door to their room. Whether it’s a kids’ room, home office, restroom, or bathroom—these two door guards do a great job of keeping things in order and clearly signal whether visitors are welcome or not.

It’s best to crochet both right away—the bear and the owl. They make the perfect Easter gift.

Both are quick and easy to crochet using leftover yarn. They’re also available individually in my pattern shop.

To the value set—Guardian Bear and Guardian Owl

These cute gnomes are not just decorations or toys for children. They can be used in so many ways. For example, as gift packaging, a fun egg cozy, for small utensils, as an Advent calendar, and much more.

A really lovely stash-busting project that’s perfect to crochet in the garden or on the patio.

There is also a house for the gnomes that is just as versatile. For example, as a utensil basket or as a bread roll basket — together with the gnomes as egg cups. There are no limits to your imagination here.

Suitable for beginners — with basic knowledge.

The house and the gnomes are also available individually.

This colorful “Happy Dog” cotton dishcloth made of cotton is both decorative and useful. It is knitted using the double-face knitting technique. If you make it a little larger and make two of them, you can of course also knit pot holders from it. For yourself or as a great gift for all dog lovers!

If you prefer crocheting, this cheerful crocheted case for an e-reader or small tablet might be a nice project for you. It’s suitable for beginners and can easily be adjusted to fit your device.

The cute bunny cotton ball dispenser is decorative and functional at the same time. The cotton balls are filled through a zipper on the head and then peek out at the back, where they can be taken out.
The bunny is not difficult to crochet and its color can be matched to the colors in the bathroom.
Here is the crochet pattern for the cotton ball dispenser bunny 'Wolli'

The pretty cover for your cosmetic tissues also matches the cotton ball dispenser above in color and looks great in any bathroom.

It can be crocheted in any size you like.

For a cozy tea time for two: the “Tea for 2” placemat! Of course, it’s best to crochet two of them!

Using the fillet technique—which involves crocheting only chain stitches and double crochets—it goes by very quickly. There’s a chart for the pattern, but it’s also written out row by row.

Something simple and beautiful: I designed a table runner using the Bruges lace crochet technique for the sideboard.
The size can be adjusted (from approx. 110 x 28 cm).

It can be used not only as a decorative table runner, but also as a placemat on the breakfast table, so that cups and plates can be placed stably while protecting the table.

These colorful butterflies aren’t just beautiful window decorations: when attached to large glass doors, they make them clearly visible and protect people from collisions.

The butterflies measure approximately 27.3 x 14.5 cm on average, so one sheet of A4 photo cardstock is enough for each butterfly. The colorful wing designs are a great way to use up leftover tracing paper. The pattern is also suitable for beginners who can use a craft knife.

Decorative and Functional = for me, that means something useful, something you can use, and that also looks good. There are quite a lot of those in my shop. I’ll simply show you a few things (crochet patterns only) that spontaneously come to mind for this topic. Maybe you’re in the mood for one or another of them right now.

I hope you enjoy browsing and making them.

Warm regards from Ina

Below is a selection of very useful, but also decorative designs from my shop:

1) Quick to make and very decorative are these cute decorative garlands. The motifs can be combined with each other however you like. The garland is crocheted in one “go,” works up super quickly, and you only need a few bits of leftover yarn. You can also use the garland wonderfully as gift ribbon.

To make office work more fun, your desk shouldn’t look too dreary. Colorful accessories are the solution!

You can craft this pen holder in your favorite color to keep your spirits up at work.

The pen holder is made of photo cardstock, is about 11 cm wide and 8 cm tall. It’s easy to make and well-suited even for skilled beginners. Tip: The holder can also be used as a container for small office items, such as paper clips, thumbtacks, erasers, and the like.
