The adorable little angels with their instruments are not just sweet decorations for the Christmas season. You can also give them individually as little guardian angels. As bag charms or keychains, they’ll be a constant companion.

This is a great project for leftover yarn. If you want to use up lots of small, colorful bits of leftover yarn, you can crochet each angel a little dress in a different color.
The little angels are very easy to crochet, so they’re no problem even for beginners.

Finger puppets are also a great project for using up leftover yarn and are always a hit with kids of all ages, especially when they’re as cool as these two ghosts!

This makes a great little gift for the kids who come knocking on your door for “trick-or-treat” on Halloween. It doesn’t always have to be candy. These two ghosts can also serve as table decorations at your Halloween party. Click here for the pattern for the two ghost finger puppets!

And here you’ll find even more finger puppets!

Bookmarks can also be crocheted very easily from small amounts of leftover yarn. I recommend using thinner cotton yarns so the bookmarks don’t bulk up the books too much. Depending on the bookworm’s interests, you can crochet bookmarks to match the book.

Here, for example, is a dragon, for anyone who enjoys reading fantasy stories, tales of knights, and legends.

The “Noble Hand Stripes” wrist warmers are knitted using a simple slip stitch pattern and are finished in no time. You’ll only need 2 x 40 g of yarn with a yardage of 160 m per 50 g.

The pattern is explained in detail. These wrist warmers are knitted as a rectangle and then sewn together at the sides. Of course, you can also knit them in the round.

This Schlüttli + hat for dolls (40–50 cm, e.g. Baby Born) can also be knitted from leftover yarn. The doll mommy will definitely be delighted, because then her darling will look like a real baby—or like the little sibling.

Both are easy to knit if you have knitting experience.

You can also quickly knit a mini sleeping bag for a stuffed animal or doll (20–25 cm) using leftover yarn. The pattern includes 2 different versions.

This sleeping bag for a stuffed animal is a great trick to help get little kids to bed more easily—after all, their little favorite is already asleep. ;-)

Easy to knit for anyone who’s knitted before.

Just a few grams of sponge yarn are enough to crochet these beautifully shaped clematis flower washpads.

The clematis flower washpads can also be crocheted in solid white, pink, or rose, depending on what leftover sponge yarn you have and which colors you prefer in your bathroom. The flowers look simply great in the bathroom and are also very practical.

A great crochet pattern for using up leftover yarn is

Fridolin the Fish

Do you love fish, or do you know an angler or fish lover? Then Fridolin is the perfect gift. If you attach him to a key ring, he makes a great keychain or bag charm. If you crochet a whole school of fish, you can create a cute fish garland. You can also use Fridolin as an extremely low-maintenance fish in a jar.

With just a small amount of cotton yarn in the body color and a small amount of black for the eyes, you can crochet your own Fridolin.

In addition to the yarn, you’ll need a little stuffing or yarn scraps for filling, a pair of scissors, and a crochet hook that matches the yarn you’re using.

Even just a few grams of yarn are enough to crochet new doll clothes for your daughter’s or granddaughter’s dolls. You’ll get rid of your scraps, and the little doll moms will be delighted.

For the 2-piece set, consisting of a flounce skirt (any length) and a matching top, please click here!

The next recommendation is sure to bring great joy to the recipient as well. The Advent calendar is crocheted from 24 small, colorful pouches. This is the perfect project for using up your leftover yarn. Printable stars are included.

And since this is my favorite topic and I’m completely in love with this design myself, I’d like to recommend another doll fashion set. It’s a two-piece set consisting of a (night)dress and a little jacket. You only need a little yarn and can give a lot of joy.

I hope you have lots of fun with the project of your choice.
Warm regards from Ina

You can quickly crochet a few dishcloths or potholders from leftover cotton yarn.

The pattern repeat is one row, and you should know how to make single crochet, half double crochet, and double crochet stitches.

For one dishcloth, you’ll need a total of about 40 grams of leftover yarn (115 m).

Get this pattern, and you can get started right away.

The dreamcatcher feather symbolizes freedom, lightness, and creativity. That makes it a lovely companion for you or someone who is important to you.

You can make the feather in your favorite colors, give your leftover yarn a new shine, and create beautiful bag charms, gift tags, garlands, keychains, and dreamcatchers! Any yarn made of several twisted strands is suitable.

The mug cozy fits mugs with and without handles and makes a lovely gift for women and men.

Small amounts of leftover yarn are all you need for these doll shoes. They’re knitted using a set of double-pointed needles.

The slip stitch edging around the sole is optional.

Depending on the yardage and needle size, the shoes will have a sole length of 6–7.5 cm
