You can definitely hold on to summer with this colorful decoration, and it’s sure to put you in a good mood at breakfast.

The “Spring Meadow” uses yellow and orange, as well as other pretty colors, in crochet. It’s easy to crochet and leaves room for creativity. The decoration consists of placemats with a flower border, scatter flowers, egg cozies and egg outfits, as well as coasters.

Another advantage: this is a lovely way to use up cotton leftover yarn from summer.

With my “Good Mood” scarf and the colors yellow and orange, summer will stay with us for a long time.
The pattern is explained row by row and also shown in a chart, making it absolutely beginner-friendly.

You’ll need 300g of yarn with a yardage of about 400m per 100g; I used merino silk yarn.
You can wear it as a scarf, stole, or cape.

Even Barbie dolls (especially dark-haired ones, which are becoming increasingly popular) love to wear yellow because it’s bright and radiates warmth.
You can crochet this pretty summer dress with a cowl neckline in 4 different variations using just one pattern. All you need are a few pieces of leftover yarn and a crochet hook.  The pattern is simple and detailed, with plenty of pictures, making it suitable even for beginners.

What do you associate with summer and sunshine? Exactly, the sunflower! The little flower child "Sunflower" is about 12 cm tall (the sunflower measures about 20 cm) and feels right at home in any summery decoration on the seasonal table, but also all by itself among the flowers on the windowsill. It has bendable arms and legs, so it can strike all kinds of different poses. You can crochet it in no time from a few colorful bits of leftover yarn.

Or should it be not only decorative, but useful too? For that, I have a very special sunflower here:

It is crocheted from Rico's "Creative Bubble" sponge yarn and can be used as a dish sponge or for showering and exfoliating. Since you can wash this material at 60° in the washing machine, the sponge always stays hygienically clean and can be used again and again.

A knitted triangle shawl. Can we hold on to the sun and its warmth? It always happens so quickly that it loses its strength. But with colors, we can preserve that feeling.

Knitted from a yarn cake, this model is easy to recreate with a little experience in knit and purl stitches, yarn overs, and knitting stitches together.

These pants look good in every color. You can knit them in mini, midi, or long - or even as overalls. Add a matching top and the beautiful doll outfit is complete. The doll mom will be delighted, and you can use up your leftover yarn.

Here’s another tip from me: Kids love bright colors, even for their slippers . So you can make them in their favorite colors—including yellow or orange, of course. You knit them, and the washing machine takes care of the felting. You can make them in any size. They always keep your feet cozy and warm without making you sweat. In the pattern, I describe and show exactly how to do it.

--> Click here for more examples, information, reviews, and the pattern.

I hope you enjoy this project. Best wishes, Ina

P.S. They’re also available in a “roll-neck version.” Just stop by and take a look ...

This gift bag in two shades of yellow is perfect for summer and makes for an original and spacious way to wrap back-to-school gifts!

The retro school bag is made of cardstock and measures approximately 25 x 18.2 x 9 cm. The child’s name on the bag flap can, of course, be changed—the download includes the entire alphabet as a template.
