I’ve seen so many great arm warmers here, but I’m wondering: What do they go with? So how do you wear your arm warmers? Just as a “substitute for gloves” under a jacket, or also over long-sleeve shirts? Are they suitable for the office or everyday wear?
I think they look kind of weird with T-shirts—either I’m cold and put on something long-sleeved, or I’m warm, but then I don’t need arm warmers anyway...
I’d really love to hear your thoughts....
Well, I crocheted some myself in a colour that isn’t very delicate. I wear them during the transitional season when I take the dog for a walk. That way, my fingers are still flexible enough to handle the leash. I wear my other ones as a substitute for gloves when it’s not quite that cold yet, or sometimes when I play boules.
My arms get cold easily, but I have a few shirts and sweaters with three-quarter sleeves that I’d like to wear even in winter. That’s why I find arm warmers very comfortable.
I'm a total fan of wrist warmers! I often have cold hands, especially when I sit at the computer for a long time. Wrist warmers quickly help with that! But indoors, of course, I need my fingers free. I wear them in all kinds of ways to match my outfit. Often with long-sleeved shirts, blouses, and outside I also like them as a glove substitute...
I feel exactly the same way as fil-art-aue.
When I’m sitting at the computer, my hands often get cold, and that’s when arm warmers are a total lifesaver. My husband feels the same way, by the way. They’re also great with 3/4-sleeve shirts, but I usually wear a long-sleeved sweater in the winter.
And during the in-between seasons, I sometimes wear them outside, too.
I’m also a big fan of arm warmers.
I’ve knitted some with thin yarn or cotton yarn, specifically to wear them indoors at work.
I just think they really jazz up a plain sweater or shirt so nicely—I have them in every color, and they go with pants, a scarf, or a cardigan.
Plus, I have pretty long arms, so sleeves tend to be a bit too short for me. Arm warmers are so comfortable then. And on top of that, they add a pop of color
Regards, Caro
