Leftover gradient yarn cakes

We have a thread here for gradient yarn cakes and leftover gradient yarn cakes. I was really looking forward to it because I’m looking for ideas on what to do with the leftovers. Since I’m pretty tall, I often need more gradient yarn cakes than the pattern calls for, but there’s usually something left over at the end. Unfortunately, so far I’ve only found patterns that require at least one gradient yarn cake.
What do you do with partially used gradient yarn cakes? Do you buy the same colors again, or can you mix these leftovers without the colors looking too wild? What do you think?

That’s exactly what I’d like to know, too. What do I do with leftover Bobbels?

The thread only has patterns that use full Bobbels. Or am I not seeing that correctly?

I always make colorful shawls or hats out of them. Simple half granny shawls, bobble-stitch hats,.. a0
As an in-between project.

With a simple, plain pattern, it works well with the colors too :) a0

I then donate the colorful things to poor children; they surely won’t mind the color :)

Here, for example, a small leftover-bobbel shawl:

I specifically started the promotional thread linked above for leftover yarn cakes as well. Maybe someone else has a pattern for that.

Maybe you could make granny squares out of the leftover yarn and piece them together into a blanket or pillowcase...?

What should I do with the leftover cotton yarn cakes? The one on the left still weighs 50 g, and the green-grey-black one 88 g. Colour-wise, the two don’t really go together…
