Colorful Advent Calendar

I highly recommend this Advent calendar made of 24 colorful crocheted pouches. It’s very easy to crochet and a lot of fun. You can use up all your leftover yarn; the stars with the numbers 1 through 24 are included as a printable template. Then all you have to do is fill the pouches and arrange them on a tray or a hanger.

And once Christmas is over, you can use the filled pouches to decorate your Easter table as well.

You’ll find more information by clicking on the title. I hope you have lots of fun with this pre-Christmas project — Ina

Maybe you’d also like to make an Advent wreath out of yarn yourself? Maybe this one made from pom-poms and mini Christmas baubles? If so, you can find the free pattern here.
Everyone always wants mine, anyway ...

I hope you have lots of fun with this project and a lovely pre-Christmas season - Yours, Ina

These cute gnomes come in different sizes and can be filled with small gifts. An Advent calendar of a very special kind, which can serve useful purposes afterward.

The gnome house is then filled with a larger gift on December 24.

The gnomes are very easy to crochet, and so is the house. So they’re perfect for beginners (basic knowledge is required).

Here’s an Advent calendar that you can easily adapt to fit your space: All the containers are hung on a cord—either on long strings in several rows stacked one above the other, or strung side by side along a long wall.

The calendar is made of cardstock, is very easy to make, and is even suitable for crafting with children. You can also use the stars as gift packaging for small tokens or party favors.

You can find Advent calendars made with a special crochet technique from me.

The knit stitch makes the motifs wonderfully clear and recognizable, and you’ll enjoy them for many years to come.
Of course, everything is explained in detail in the pattern, so that you too can learn this special yet simple technique.

Whether baby booties or little bags - both are perfect for decorating for Advent.

Or would you prefer to make a wreath?

Then I have something for owl fans and moose lovers:

An Advent calendar to get active with.

Every day, Frau Holle’s bag is refilled before the shutters are closed. Ideal for the whole family—each day it’s someone else’s turn.

After the Advent season, Frau Holle still creates a wintry atmosphere.

To make it, you should be familiar with the following: magic ring, chain stitches, slip stitches, single crochet, half double crochet, as well as increasing and decreasing stitches.

Could you use a fresh breeze for this year’s pre-Christmas atmosphere?

Then here is a slightly different version of the traditional Advent wreath. In a maritime style, the Advent lights are presented in blue and white.

Chain stitches, slip stitches, single crochet, as well as half and regular double crochet are used to crochet this; the pattern is suitable for beginners

This Advent calendar can also be adapted to any space situation: arranged as several small groups of trees around the room, the calendar is very space-saving, decorative, and can even add a playful element when searching for the right number.

Each of these little Advent calendar trees consists of three layers and a container. All parts are crafted independently of one another and then joined together with the help of a thin wire. The little fir trees are made from photo cardstock, are approx. 8 cm tall, and are also easy for beginners to make!

This is a very special Advent calendar, because it isn’t filled—the individual crocheted pieces ARE the filling! They are nativity figures that you can crochet from leftover yarn. Each day, another figure is added, so that by Christmas you have a complete nativity scene.

It could look like this, for example:
December 1: Mary
December 2: the angel announces the birth of Jesus to Mary
December 3: Mary tells Joseph about it
December 4: Mary and Joseph set off for Bethlehem with their donkey
December 5: a star shows them the way
December 6: The 3 Kings Caspar too...

December 7: ... Melchior...
December 8: ... and Balthasar see the star and follow it
etc.
On December 24, the Christ Child is placed in the manger, and the nativity scene is complete.

You need the following patterns:
Mary+Joseph+Jesus+Manger+Star+Ox+Donkey
(7 pieces)
Caspar+Melchior+Balthasar+Camel+Elephant+Horse

(6 pieces)
3 Shepherds+2 Sheep+Christmas Angel
(6 pieces)

Tip: If you want to crochet an Advent calendar with these patterns, you’ll need to crochet more sheep or shepherds to get to 24 pieces. With the pieces in the patterns, you’ll have a total of 19 pieces. So if you crochet, for example, 2 more shepherds and 3 more sheep, you’ll have 24.

@ruthk: That’s a wonderful idea! The nativity scene is sooo pretty—I’d love to start crocheting it right away! Unfortunately, I still have a few urgent projects to finish first! Big compliments on this pattern!

This Advent calendar is small and compact. Each of the calendar’s eight compartments holds three boxes, of which only the bottom one is visible—only when you pull out a box does the one on top fall down and become visible.

The calendar is made of cardstock and measures approximately 12.8 x 12.8 x 12.8 cm; the individual boxes measure approximately 6 x 2 x 5.5 cm. To ensure everything fits together properly in the end, you’ll need to work very precisely and carefully; other than that, the calendar is easy to assemble.

This beautiful Advent calendar delights the hearts of young and old alike. The individual pouches offer enough space to hide little surprises for your loved ones - a special eye-catcher for your home during the run-up to Christmas.

The individual pouches are quick and easy to crochet; if you make one now and then, the calendar grows piece by piece. If you make each pouch 3 times in a different color sequence, you will get 24 individual pouches.
