Good morning. After a wonderful but exhausting week, the weekend will be very quiet. Today, Anton will get three more gifts from us. We didn’t want to overwhelm him yesterday.
And then we’ll be playing a lot today. Anton got a great marble run, and it’s a lot of fun to play with—especially for me. :-)

I wish you all a wonderful weekend

Have a lovely, relaxing weekend, everyone!
Here in Vienna, it’s raining right now and the temperatures are pleasantly cool. I’m doing some housework, and I’m also continuing to knit the soul warmer. Later today, I’ll go shopping, and I want to do some studying, too. But I’m actually planning a very cozy, relaxed weekend.

I also wish everyone here a lovely weekend with plenty of time for crafting. Unfortunately, I have to throw myself into the bookkeeping first ... sigh. But I’m sure there will be time for crafting too, especially now that the weather is perfect for it. That will be my reward. :-)

Sandra, a marble run really is great. My granddaughter got one for her 1st birthday too. She’s still having lots of fun with it now at 2 1/2. Well, there’s still a child in all of us.

Best regards, Monika

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
We were busy today—this morning we went to the fall festival at the daycare, at noon my oldest son had a soccer game (they won 4–1), and in the afternoon I processed a laundry basket full of apples—into dried fruit and applesauce. Then in the garden—just as we got there, it started to rain, luckily just a light shower—we harvested more apples and planted lots of flower bulbs that we bought at the Wenden fair in August. Right now, the apple turnovers are baking in the pan—delicious. With the cinnamon, they already taste a little like Christmas :-) Later, I’ll put my feet up on the sofa and pick up my crochet hook.

Tomorrow, it’s time for the next laundry basket full of apples (I still have 5 left), and the washing machine and ironing are waiting, too. The beds need fresh sheets as well... I don’t think I’ll be bored tomorrow either :D

@Sandra - a marble run is really great. My boys have the Duplo one, meaning individual Duplo pieces that they can put together in different ways over and over again. They still love playing with it, even though they’ve outgrown the Duplo age by now—at least the older one has.

MonsZaDesign:
What are Appelflappen?

Tomorrow we’re going to church first, followed by coffee. After lunch, I want to make some applesauce (windfall apples that don’t store well) and then try to finish knitting the little bathrobe. In between, I keep thinking of things to do for our travel preparations…

Yesterday I taught another spinning class at my friend’s yarn shop. It was another fun afternoon—we always have great participants who come in with the best mood.
Today I’m heading to a family gathering. I’m really looking forward to it—it’s a chance to catch up with people we don’t see very often, and there’s sure to be some delicious food.
Maybe I’ll take my knitting with me, too—we’ll be sitting around and chatting a lot. I could… we’ll see.
Have a lovely Sunday
Best wishes, Caro

@ChristinaE - Appelflappen is a Dutch dish: you cut apples (peeled and cored) into slices about 1 cm thick, toss them in cinnamon and sugar, dip them in a pancake-like batter, and then fry them in a pan with oil until they’re nice and crispy brown. Then sprinkle some powdered sugar on top and enjoy them hot.
You can find a detailed recipe for this on Chefkoch online.

Oh, that sounds delicious.

The weather was just as planned—really calm.  Somehow Anton was also worn out and slept more than usual.
Yesterday he got our present too. A pounding bench with a glockenspiel. We didn’t want to overwhelm him on Friday.

Tomorrow my parents are coming again, and then he’ll get building blocks too. But then that’s enough. :-)

I was able to crochet a lot. My husband was on a business trip last week and has to leave again from tomorrow through Thursday. So he made the most of the time and played a lot with Anton, and I had some time off. :-) Wonderful

@MonsZaDesign: Thank you so much—that sounds just like our little apple cakes, and I really love them! I also have a recipe for baking them in the oven (in a special pan).
