You’re spoiled for choice!
In any case, felted slippers are the best and warmest thing that can happen to your feet in fall and winter. Once you’ve worn them, you won’t want to be without them. They keep you cozily warm without making your feet sweat. They feel soft to walk in because the felt is already thick and soft. They regulate temperature, letting excess heat escape through the natural wool fibers. They don’t absorb odors and are simply perfect for every foot. Nothing pinches or rubs.
And the best part is: you can make them yourself! For you, your family, your friends, or as a gift for your best friend. Simply knit them from felting wool, and the washing machine takes care of the felting. You’ll find exactly how it all works described in my patterns. Now all you have to do is choose:
Should it be moccasins?
or would you prefer something cut a little higher, the
felted boots with a rolled cuff—for the men in understated anthracite:
or for the ladies in exciting pink? Guaranteed nobody else will have these:
Or would you rather have some that let you use up your leftovers? You can make them as ballet flats or ankle-high, all in one piece. In this pattern I also reveal how to make the leather soles yourself (with a template). That increases the lifespan of the felted slippers fourfold and looks much nicer, too.
In any case, I wish you lots of joy with the project and warm feet at all times.
Yours, Ina
