Today I’ll be crocheting as long as I can. Tomorrow we’ll do the weekly grocery shopping, and in the afternoon we’ll pick up our daughter. That means endless mountains of laundry and listening to lots of great vacation stories. I’m really looking forward to it! And I mean that!
My entire weekend will be devoted to harvesting apples and pears and processing them—I hope my sons will help me out again.
This afternoon we’ll be celebrating our birthdays belatedly; the cake—apple cake—is still in the oven, and we’ll have freshly squeezed pear juice.
Tomorrow evening, there’s also a milestone birthday among our friends.
We’ll see if I get a chance to do some crocheting today and Sunday evening...
My weekend is all about our new kitten—yesterday, this little ray of sunshine moved in as the newest member of our family.
He’s not shy at all and is totally curious.
May I introduce “Junior”?
By the way, the little guy also finds crocheting really interesting—I definitely have to keep my yarn out of his reach.
Otherwise, the weekend will be the same as always:
Greek food, family time, and crafts. I’ll be working on my Tunisian crochet poncho.
Oh Petra, your new cat is sooo cute! I hope you have lots of joy with him.
It’s raining here and the temperature has dropped dramatically—to about 19 degrees. It’s really pleasant after all that heat and perfect for crocheting. The washing machine is running, the housework is done, and now I’m just waiting for my son to wake up—yes, yes, the late sleeper—then it’s off shopping, and until then I’ll be happily crocheting away, and that’s what I’ll be doing all weekend.
Your little one is so cute, and it looks like he really likes the big mouse.
I’m going to bake a cake this weekend—it’s my husband’s birthday on Monday, and we’re having some guests over.
I’ll also be doing some crocheting on the side.
We just got back tonight from our four-day cultural and wine tour through the Kraichgau—it was really lovely and educational! After dinner, I immediately grabbed some yarn and a hook so I could wrap the little gift for my neighbor (she looked after my cat and watered my tomatoes) in a crocheted pouch. We don’t have any big plans for tomorrow: I should finally tackle that mountain of ironing, take care of some paperwork, and, of course, do some needlework.
Petra, your cuddly Junior is really cute and looks like he’s always up for an adventure. Well, the name Junior still fits. Will he be renamed Senior later on? ;-)
For me, using up fruit is on the agenda almost every day right now. We get so much as gifts, and we harvest 1 pound of raspberries ourselves every day. It’s just fantastic.
Does anyone have a tip on how to use pears? I’ve never made pear sauce before and don’t know if it’s possible.
Yesterday, for the first time in a long while, I had merino wool on my needles again. It feels so nice. Now the new hat for my granddaughter is taking shape... so exciting. A new creation—it's still in the testing phase. But I can already tell it’s going to be great.
Today is all about tidying up. I finally need to sort through the yarn chaos in the living room so I can get a clear overview again. I’m glad I don’t have any cats. I couldn’t leave everything lying around like this.
@ Christina
They’re still very skeptical, but the little one is so curious and is already getting on their nerves—no matter what they do, he’s just always there. There’s the occasional hissing, so it’ll take some time before everyone gets along :-)
@ Monika
The name “Junior” will stick, even when he’s a senior :-)
After all, he’s still the “Junior” among all three kitties.
