Dear users, dear authors,
soon autumn will strip the green from the leaves. Summer won’t last forever this year either; soon the days of cozying up in the garden or on the balcony will be over.
How do you handle crafts in the fall and winter?
I always knit in the living room during fall and winter—there’s sooo much time for knitting this time of year, since you can’t spend as much time outside anymore.
Oh, the sofa is wonderfully comfortable all year round! I actually like crocheting even more in winter.
Without breaking a sweat, snuggled up under a thick blanket, in front of the TV (or with Christmas music in the background) and a delicious cup of tea in front of me (which I always end up forgetting and drinking cold later)...
And outside the window, the snow-covered field and the beautifully decorated houses....
Now that I think about it, it could already be winter :)
Ah, fall and winter! How lovely! I don’t really get much time for crafts then, except during vacation, because I’m back in school and have a lot of studying to do. I just knit and crochet on my way to school, on my way to work, at the knitting café, during breaks, in my free periods...
What do I make? Whatever I feel like—it could even be all summer projects if the cold starts to get on my nerves.
I often sit comfortably with my neighbor over a cup of hot tea, and we knit together. Many ideas come up during these sessions, some of which I’m able to bring to life.
This morning, I came up with an idea for a knitted and crocheted art project. I’m going to flesh that out a bit more and then put it into action. It’s supposed to be finished by summer 2019. There’s still plenty to do—in addition to the other projects I have on my needles—… I’m so excited! :-)
I also take every opportunity to knit or crochet, for example on long drives (my husband does the driving) and on our trips in the RV. In the fall, I’ll be knitting in the RV in the evenings (without TV—we don’t have one).
I’ll stay out on the balcony until the very last moment. I’ll happily wrap myself in a jacket or blanket. I only go inside when my fingers start to freeze. And since I recently scored myself a great rocking chair for my study second-hand, saying goodbye to my balcony knitting/crafting won’t be so hard this year. Or so I think. Maybe I’ll even drag the rocking chair out onto the balcony...ggg
Best regards, Caro
