Dear users and authors,
which colors, techniques, and trends do you like best right now? Which material is currently indispensable to you?
Let me know.
Cotton with a touch of silk. And sock yarn. Because right now I’m totally hooked on knitting socks. It’s quick, the projects are small, and it’s really pleasant to work on in this heat. Plus, you can try out different patterns. Color-wise, I’m more into the bluish, purple palette right now.
Material: Bobbel yarn with 50% cotton and 50% acrylic
Technique: Crocheting, as always :)
Color: A colorful mix. So not too many colors at once; everything should match reasonably well... But sometimes one color, sometimes another.
When it comes to colors, I’m open to anything, but I have a soft spot for all shades of red and burgundy.
My projects almost always include some silk—it’s just so great to knit with and has a beautiful sheen.
I only knit and only crochet occasionally when I find a great, simple pattern by someone else.
When it comes to colors, I like shades of red and yellow best. Right now, I’m working a lot with shades of purple and orange. But I’m also open to other colors, including white. They just can’t be too dark.
I prefer natural materials, such as cotton, hemp, virgin wool, or blends of these.
I don’t necessarily follow trends, since I prefer to bring my own ideas to life—ideas that are usually timeless.
Right now, cotton is my go-to—it’s definitely the most comfortable given the current temperatures. I mostly use it for crochet. As soon as it cools down a bit, I’ll go back to knitting with sock yarn.
When it comes to colors, I’m open to anything: shades of blue and green, as well as red, a little gray, and white.
For me, knitting and crocheting regularly take turns. For a long time, I only crocheted, but for the past few weeks, I’ve been making a lot more knitted pieces.
My favorite yarn is—and always will be—a yarn that’s 99% cotton. It’s a gradient yarn. I especially love it when the color keeps changing as I work. I’m always looking forward to the next color—I wonder what the shawl will look like when it’s finished.
Now that my knitted cowl is finished, I’ve picked up my crochet hook and cotton yarn—maybe the muse will strike...
I mostly crochet with mercerized or regular cotton; when it comes to gradient yarn cakes, I like the 50% cotton and 50% acrylic blend.
In terms of crochet techniques, I prefer single crochet and double crochet, but I’m also open to experimenting—as long as the stitches aren’t too complicated. I also like the tapestry technique using just two colors to start with.
Color-wise, I’m currently into yellow, red, and orange; glittery yarn; and neon colors—and, of course, to match the summer weather, ocean colors in all shades of light and medium blue.
1. Definitely not viscose. Ready-made dresses ALWAYS shrink when I wash them(((
2. I love linen! This hot summer, I’m wearing almost everything made of linen.
3. New idea—sew a simple dress and embroider it with a floral pattern or folk motifs. Linen dresses in plus sizes—the styles in photos 2, 4, and 11 are just perfect. I’ve already done the sewing; now to embroider it (or have it embroidered?)
