Handheld fidgets, stress balls, and juggling balls

Hi everyone,
since I just posted in the “Stuffing Amigurumi” thread about using rice to stuff amigurumi so you can knead them to relieve stress, I wanted to ask whether handheld fidgets, stress balls, or “squeeze balls” are a good idea in the DIY world—or not so much?
Do people usually buy the ready-made rubber ones, or those balls with hedgehog-like spikes?
Does anyone know anything about this?
You could also crochet some pretty juggling balls, for example, if you can juggle or want to learn how.
You could then fill them with whatever you like—rice, for instance. Stuffing would probably be too light, so juggling wouldn’t work anymore.
What do you think?

Hey Mützekatze,

I crocheted a “hacky sack” (a kind of juggling ball) for my daughters and filled it with rice. They’ve had the balls for quite a while now and play with them almost every day! The rice filling has worked really well for me—you just have to make sure it doesn’t get wet ;) And you can squeeze the ball, throw it, hold it, etc., and it feels like you’re actually holding something in your hand. Before that, I had filled one with stuffing, but they didn’t play with it as much.

Aren’t worry stones more often made of wood or crystals, and not out of cat or crocheted?
