Hi,

I still haven’t bought any wool. My stash is
still more than enough.

Best regards, Heike

You two are the best! :-)

I haven’t bought anything either, but I just realized I’m missing a few skeins of the main color for a new project. I’ll probably reorder those now—just the ones I’m missing… for now. ;-)

It’s still up in the air whether I’ll be able to start my “yarn diet” in August. That’s because our planned trip to the Chiemgau region probably won’t start until August. And since I’ll also be paying a visit to Walraud’s Wollkörberl then… well, you know how it goes. I definitely won’t walk out of there empty-handed. ;-)

After that, I’ll probably be able to stick to my yarn diet indefinitely, since I can make a lot with the stash I already have.

@mowi19
You can manage to start the yarn diet too.
Once you’ve started, it’s really fun
to work down your stash.
I’m very glad this campaign exists, because that way I’m finally
making some space, and my wallet gets a break too.

Best wishes, Heike

I think it’s great that you enjoy taking part in the “wool diets,” whether as “Wool Emperor” (one month), “Final Round for World Domination” (several months), or even “Conqueror of Your Inner Slacker” (one year). Only if users and designers join in activities with enthusiasm is it worth offering activities, projects, and the like.

Hi Josefa,

I think the campaigns are really great.

They always keep me motivated to stick with it.

Best regards, Heike

Besides my knitting project, I’m also in the middle of using up my leftover yarn right now. My crocheted granny just needs the apron and the face.

My daughter offered me her basket of leftover yarn today, but I politely declined. I want to keep using up what I have and not get any more....

Oh, Mel, that’s so cute! Absolutely adorable, your grandma :-)

Josefa, I really enjoy being part of this. It’s incredibly motivating to finally work through my yarn stash, finish those UFOs, or prevent them from becoming UFOs in the first place—and to encourage each other. I’m having a blast.

I actually went ahead and bought the cotton skeins I was missing today. Well… my neighbor wanted some yarn too, so I just ordered mine along with hers. That’s how fast it can happen… :-)

But now I have such a big stash that I can easily go on a “yarn diet” for months again. Heike, last time I managed to do it for half a year. And I think that’s totally great. After all, I bought the stash to knit with, not to hoard. So, of course, I’m in again… though probably not until September. Because I already know what I’m taking with me to Walraud. And then that’s it for this year…

Now I just have a few skeins of yarn I don’t like. It was one of those typical spring yarns, and I actually wanted to make pillows out of it. But when I went to knit with it, I realized it’s incredibly hard to work with. It’s this thick, plush yarn that’s truly unruly in the truest sense of the word. I have it in blue, red, and white.

It’s actually a shame, but I’ll probably pass it on. Then I’ll have space again, and I need that now for the new yarn.

I’ve turned some of my leftover yarn into hair ties. They look really pretty. Once they’re completely finished, I’ll show them to you. I still have to sew them together.

And the next project for my leftover yarn is already in the works. They’re scarves for my little granddaughter, to match her sweaters. One of them will probably be finished this month.

Have a lovely evening, everyone!

Warm regards from Monika

I bought my last skein a week ago, just because I liked the turquoise color of the cotton yarn. Now I’m trying my best not to buy any more; I ran out of space a long time ago!

My stash will last me a long time, but I bought some new yarn anyway. It was so pretty :-)
