Flamingo Frieda Crochet Pattern
Click here to go directly to the crochet pattern

Flamingo Frieda loves summer, sun, the beach, and more—and will really get you in the summer spirit. Frieda is perfect as a decorative edge sitter or simply as a decoration. This pattern is also great for beginners in amigurumi crocheting!

14-page crochet pattern including many step-by-step photos
Difficulty Level: Easy; you should be familiar with the basic crochet techniques (single crochet, double crochet, decreases, and increases...). The pattern is crocheted mainly using single crochet.

What you’ll need:
  • Approx. 40g of yarn in pink, approx. 15g in gray; both suitable for a 2mm crochet hook. 100% cotton is best, as it makes the flamingo nice and sturdy (e.g., Lana Grossa)
  • Scraps of white and black yarn for the beak, and pink and green for the flower. These scraps should be suitable for a 2mm crochet hook
  • 2mm crochet hook
  • 6mm safety eyes or black thread
  • stuffing
  • Craft wire
  • Scissors, darning needle, stitch markers

Lion Lennox crochet pattern
Go directly to the crochet pattern here

Hello, dear friends!! My name is Lennox and I’m a small but proud lion cub. I’m about 12 cm tall and an absolutely reliable and loyal companion who will always make you smile! I’m house-trained and will barely make any work for you around the house. In general, I’m very independent and perfectly suited to become your new cuddle buddy ;-) You should know how to:
  • Crochet single crochet stitches in spiral rounds
  • Make a magic ring
  • Slip stitches
  • Sew on the individual pieces
  • So, basic general crochet knowledge
Scope: 25-page crochet pattern with lots of pictures for every step. I won’t leave you on your own when sewing the individual pieces together either
Difficulty level: Easy, although you should have worked in spiral rounds before. What you need:
  • Approx. 20 g yarn (Schoeller Stahl Zimba medium in color 0218) in the color you want your lion to be. The yarn should be suitable for a 3 mm crochet hook (the recommendation on the Schoeller Stahl yarn is a 3.5 mm hook, but it can be crocheted very well with a 3 mm hook)
  • Approx. 20 g strands for the lion’s mane (I used eyelash yarn, but it also works great with normal leftover yarn).
  • White leftover yarn suitable for a 2 mm crochet hook
  • Brown thread for the nose
  • Safety eyes (8 mm)
  • Stuffing
  • Scissors, darning needle
  • Stitch marker
  • Pins to hold the individual limbs in place before sewing them together

How about an owl or a little bear as a door guard? That way, no one can come into the room unnoticed anymore. They’ve become an absolute hit with kids. It’s best to crochet a door guard for each family member right away.

Click here for the crochet pattern for the little guard bear

Both the little bear and the owl are easy for beginners to crochet, too. Basic knowledge is required. All steps are described clearly and with photos. By the way, this is also a great way to use up yarn scraps.

Tip: you can find the value pack with both door hangers via this link.

Adorable BallerinaWith this pattern, you’ll be able to crochet the sweet little pug. The pattern is written in great detail over 14 pages, and many pictures help you with the process. To crochet the prima ballerina, you will need:A crochet hook size 2-3, depending on the yarn usedYarn: you can use any yarn, but ideally it should be a cotton yarn. I used Mondial bio soft cotton (50 g 180 m) for the small little pug and Ecobebek, Turkish organic cotton (comparable in yardage to Myboshi Lieblingsfarben No. 2) for the larger little pug. However, you can use any yarn from your stash that matches in color, but you should keep in mind that this will change the size of the finished figure. My figure made with Mondial bio soft cotton is approx. 15 cm tall, and with Ecobebek approx. 20 cm.You need 1x50g in your main color for one little animal, scraps in a contrasting color for the paws and face.Black sewing thread for the embroidery on the face (I used the thread doubled 4 times)If you use a different yarn, you may need to adjust the quantities given for the yarn.A tapestry needle for weaving in endsScissorsA stitch marker or a thread in a contrasting color to mark the beginning of each roundSewing thread in a matching color to sew on the head, eyes, arms, and legs.Stuffingsmall black beads for the eyes (approx. 0.5- 0.8 mm)possibly small flowers, beads, sequins ...to decorate your figureFabric for the tutu (tulle is ideal, as it does not fray as easily)You must know the following stitch variations:Single crochet (sc), decreases, increases, slip stitch, magic ring

Nils is a very friendly hippo who loves nothing more than lying in the sun and daydreaming... about pink cotton candy, blueberry ice cream... or maybe even licorice swirls ;))) With this pattern, you’ll be able to crochet Nils in no time—the 15-page instructions are very detailed, and plenty of pictures will help you along the way.To crochet Nils, you’ll need:
  • A crochet hook size 2–3.5 (depending on the yarn)
  • Yarn—I used Twister Ibiza (50g, 125m), 100% cotton. You’ll need about 50g in color 49 (Violet) for the body, and scraps in color 65 (Turquoise) for the cheeks and nostrils.
Of course, you can also use any other yarn of your choice, but this will change the size of your hippos.
  • Black scraps to embroider the eyes (if you don’t want to use beads)
  • Small beads or lens-shaped beads for the eyes, or safety eyes in a suitable size
  • Bells / rattle discs / rattle balls
  • Crinkle foil
If you use a different type of yarn, you may need to adjust the yarn quantities.
  • A darning needle for sewing
  • A pair of scissors
  • Sewing thread in a matching color to sew on the eyes and appliqués.
  • stuffing
  • To crochet the hippo, you’ll need to know how to do the following:
  • Single crochet (sc)
  • Decreases, increases
  • slip stitch
  • Amigurumi ring
  • Double crochet (dc)
  • Treble crochet

How about this magnificent animal for your pet?

The perfect spot for kitties to really dream of a wild mouse hunt. Even without a cat, this “big catch” makes a very decorative addition to your home.

Perfect for beginners since it’s crocheted using only single crochet stitches .

Crochet pattern: Cat’s Dream “Big Catch”

As always, the pattern is beginner-friendly and uses no abbreviations.
