Dear users, dear authors,
since you probably don’t go anywhere without your craft supplies, here’s my question for you: Where are you and your craft supplies headed this season?
Let me know.
I’m staying home this summer because, first of all, it’s hard to travel with my elderly dog, and second, I probably won’t get a summer vacation since I mostly need my time off in the spring and fall. But when it comes to crafts, I’m drawn to lace knitting.
My current craft project is coming with me to Scandinavia next week. First, it’ll fly with me from Berlin to Munich (!!) and from there to Stockholm, where it’ll then take the ferry to Finland and then the bus all the way up to the North Cape. ;-)
we’re not going on a big trip this summer.
We’ve actually planned two weekends away.
First, we want to spend a few days in Wetzlar—a friend of ours
has an apartment there that she’s making available to us—and we’re also
going to Cologne/Bonn for three days in mid-July.
Our “real” vacation will be in December—one week in the Allgäu over Christmas.
But of course, I’ll be bringing my needlework with me wherever I go.
Tomorrow I’m heading out on our annual company trip to Trieste. It’s a 6-hour bus ride, so there’ll be plenty of time for crafting.
I’ll be back home Saturday evening.
Other than that, it’ll be my first trip to the sea with the kids this year. Sun—beach—crochet supplies!
Does anyone know if there’s a great yarn shop in Trieste? My husband teased me about going there just for yarn. But if there is one, you can’t pass it up, right???
Until August, I only have a few days of hiking planned, but of course there’s always something to crochet or knit during the train rides. In August, we’ve signed up for a group trip to southern Germany. There won’t be much time for crafts there—I can’t do it on the bus—but in the evenings at the hotel, there will definitely be a chance to work on two or three rows. The big trip will then take us to the U.S. at the end of September to visit our little grandson—unfortunately, you can’t use the flight time for crafting!
We’re heading to Berchtesgaden this year, with stopovers in Gera and Munich. Gera because it was affordable and pretty central :-))) I’m really curious about it, but I’m not expecting much. And Munich, because I haven’t been there in ages.
We don’t know yet where we’ll stop on the way back. But we definitely need a stopover with a toddler.
And Berchtesgaden is sure to be absolutely beautiful too. We have a nice, big holiday apartment, and we’ll see what we get up to there.
I’m sure I’ll have plenty of time to crochet anyway.
Tomorrow is a holiday here, and we’re invited to visit friends in the Salzburg area. In the car, I’ll of course use the time to crochet or knit. I’m not quite sure yet what I’ll bring along.
Other than that, we go on 2–3-day camping trips every now and then. And my craft bag always comes along.
I’m looking forward to a new cruise. It doesn’t start until the end of October, though. Then we’ll head from Crete to Israel, through the Suez Canal, with stops in Jordan, the Seychelles, and on through Madagascar to Mauritius.
It’s going to be great—provided, of course, that peace in some countries isn’t jeopardized by foolish politics.
I’m excited because I haven’t traveled to this part of the world yet.
I’ll be bringing my crochet hook and some cotton yarn. We’ll see what comes of it.
I took my crochet supplies with me on my vacation in Germany. The trip took me from Norway to Kiel, then to Brandenburg/H., and from there to Reutlingen (Swabian Alb). But I didn’t really get much crocheting done after all.
There were just so many things going on, like my parents’ golden wedding anniversary, visiting friends, shopping, eating ice cream sundaes, touring the castles at Lichtenstein and Hohenzollern... and...
then there was our own wedding celebration. Yes, we tied the knot in the beautiful chapel in Reutlingen, right next to City Hall. It couldn’t be better right now.
So I only had time to crochet in the evenings.
