Hi Josefa, I’m not entirely satisfied with April. But I finished a shawl and started a pair of summer pants (which I’ll finish this week). I’ll finish crocheting my black summer dress in May; to go with the pants, I’ll make a summer top using the same yarn and pattern, and then on Monday I saw this beautiful yarn cake—I just had to have it—and I’ll use it to make a shawl. And I still have to work on a Mother’s Day gift; I think it’ll be another doll for my mom’s collection.
I’m not satisfied with April. The day before yesterday, I looked at my knitting needles again for the first time in 10 days. Somehow, I lost all enthusiasm for everything. One family emergency after another with no break—just when you think things can’t get any worse, something else comes along. The last two weeks were all about crisis management (my father), on top of that my husband had acute heart problems, and I was constantly shuttling from one hospital to the next. What hit me the hardest was the situation with my husband. After all, he’s someone very special. He’s been back home since the day before yesterday. We’ll see. This isn’t meant as complaining—it’s simply the way things are. My energy has gone into other things.
That’s why I’ve also been holding back lately from all the challenges and other activities. I couldn’t knit. Now I can again, hopefully. My summer top has grown by three centimeters.
@Ida
I wish you continued strength in the coming time and hope the situation eases up again. I went through the same thing with my husband two years ago.
I’m doing great—April went well for me as an author here on CP. My cat is doing well again, too; he’s almost back to his “old self.”
I have a vacation planned for May—this Saturday I’m heading to Denmark for two weeks, where I’ve decided to crochet a woman for Bernhard (that’s my avatar) :-)
Ida, I hope that calmer times are ahead for your family and that you’ll find the time and desire to knit again.
I’m happy with my knitting projects this April. I used up quite a bit of my yarn stash.
In May, I’m also looking forward to a vacation—of course, I’ll be bringing all my needles and plenty of yarn. For me, that’s an absolute must for a camping trip.
