Dear users, dear authors,
how are you? How's the weather? Did you have a great meal? Enough time for crafts? What are your plans for this week?
Let me know.
Hi Josefa,
Thanks, I’m doing well. The weather isn’t quite as nice today. It rained heavily this morning, but it’s not cold. It’s the perfect weather for crafts, so I’m making the most of it.
Starting Wednesday, I’ll be traveling for a few days—I’m already looking forward to it.
I already went for a “half-day spa treatment” today. Aromatherapy massage, a treatment for velvety-soft hands, and a foot bath with herbal exfoliation. Of course, I’m just going to relax for the rest of the day to maintain the results *cackle*
I’m doing great. I’m busy writing new knitting patterns and am currently designing a pair of summer pants for a baby. The sun and the warm weather are practically begging us to take our work out into the garden.
This weekend, we’re invited to an Italian concert, which I’m really looking forward to. An Italian friend of ours is singing there.
I’m not feeling so great—spring fatigue has really hit me hard. All I want to do is sleep, sleep, sleep… and that’s with this great weather! Although it’s actually pretty gray and gloomy here today, and the temperatures have dropped a bit. I also have a lot to study right now, and all the people with their cell phones on public transportation are really getting on my nerves. Where have the days of being cell-phone-free gone? Everywhere you look, it’s just cell phones and hustle and bustle.
I’m doing pretty well so far. I’m just suffering from hay fever. For the first time.
@sofis-welt
I really understand how you feel.
Cell phones everywhere. In restaurants, at the supermarket, on buses and trains. Just everywhere.
That’s why I’ve imposed a cell phone ban at our house when we
have guests—and that goes for the guests too, especially the guests.
And when we go out to eat with friends, they’re not “allowed” to use their phones.
I think it’s really annoying when you’re sitting together in a restaurant trying to
have a conversation, and the person across from me is sitting there fiddling with their phone, and I don’t know
if they even understood me.
Other than that, the weather here is (still) great.
I’m working on a table runner for a friend; I might finish it today
.
I’m doing pretty well :)
Actually, I usually suffer from hay fever, but this year it’s really not too bad for me.
Hopefully it stays that way!
Oh, and I’m a bit more relaxed about the whole cell phone thing. It doesn’t bother me much on the bus or train. Before, people used to stare at a magazine or a book there.... Now it’s just the smartphone…
I think the problem is that the smartphone combines so many functions. “Back in the day,” you needed a whole bunch of different items to do what a cell phone can do now; today, you only need this one… And that’s why so many people have it in their hands so often, and people find that distracting…
When I’m out with friends or have guests over, I usually don’t need to set any rules. Most of the time, the phone is just in my pocket—no need to say anything about it :)
Where it really bothers me, though, is at the checkout counter while shopping, etc.
When people are so busy typing that they don’t even notice their child running out of the store, or that they need to put their items on the conveyor belt... or when they’re talking on the phone while they’re at it...
The weather is a bit cooler and gloomier today than it was yesterday. But I’m looking on the bright side—this way, I can weed the garden and plant the flowers my mother-in-law brought me yesterday without breaking a sweat. Maybe it’ll even rain—then I’ll save myself the trouble of watering the garden :)
My daughter is bringing a friend home from school, so that means helping with homework and practicing for two. Experience has shown that this always takes a little longer because the girls like to chat, but that’s not so bad…
and if there’s still time left, I’ll get back to writing the pattern.
Unfortunately, this weather is messing with my circulation. So I’ve been dealing with dizziness and fatigue. My vision gets blurry, too. I’ve already been to the eye doctor because of it. But it has nothing to do with my visual acuity—it’s purely a circulation issue.
He said to lie down and take it easy. Nice suggestion when you’re stuck at work.
But I can’t complain. A few people around me have really been hit hard with strep throat and bad coughs. Allergies are also flaring up, and I’ve been completely spared from that.
As soon as I get home, I’m going to get some exercise outside—that’ll get everything going again. And it’ll lift my spirits, too.
Plus, my summer shawl is waiting for me there so I can keep crocheting it.
