Do you feel like crocheting a nice little project this weekend —something that lets you relax while making charming Christmas decorations and great little gifts?

You can crochet these beautiful stars using just 4 granny triangles each. Get the pattern, grab your scrap yarn box, and by tonight a beautiful star will be adorning your home! Or maybe even two? ;-)

Tip: Even after Christmas, the stars look wonderful as decorations on wreaths or as a garland for kids’ rooms. Stars are great all year round! Maybe in yellow or pink next time?

When made from cotton yarn like Schachenmayr’s Catania, they turn out so sturdy that you can even prop them upright!

The step-by-step pattern, featuring over 60 high-quality photos and illustrations, is very detailed. It includes a precise written explanation and a crochet chart. The PDF pattern is 16 pages long.

Difficulty level: easy to medium; however, the pattern is so thorough that even beginners with a little experience can give it a try!

You’ll need the following crochet skills for this project: chain stitches, slip stitches, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, triple crochet, and crocheting in the round.

Have fun crocheting, and have a wonderful weekend!

Crochet patterns for the weekend, quick to make

Angel Big-Bärbel

Angels come in many variations; this one stands out with its imperfect charm. A few pounds too many and a slightly tousled hairstyle—everyone knows that feeling.
Made from leftover yarn, it’s quick enough even for beginners and makes a nice little gift during Advent.

New and quick to knit - wonderful as a "last-minute gift" for Christmas:

Knitting pattern - New Zealand boot cuffs

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

.. knitted in rows or in rounds - your choice

These quick and easy-to-knit cuffs make a chic finish for your boots.

The pattern used here is also wonderful for scarves or (Mobius) loops, since it looks the same on both sides.

Included in the download (PDF format):

  • Knitting pattern Boot cuffs in rows – also for scarves
  • Knitting pattern Boot cuffs in rounds with a set of double-pointed needles, or
  • with a circular knitting needle for a loop
  • Separate PDF: Knitting basics
Materials:
Depending on the cuff height, 50 g to 100 g Adriafil New Zealand Print, 75% wool, 25% acrylic, 100 g – 200 m, needle size 4.5. We also need a measuring tape, scissors, and a yarn needle for weaving in ends. If the cuffs are knitted in rounds, we need a set of double-pointed needles size 4.5.

In burgundy, gold and/or silver, this is a wonderful "Christmas crochet project":

Dish Sponge Ball with or without a Face plus Dishcloth - Crochet Pattern

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

Quick to crochet with the popular dish sponge yarn (washable at 60°C in the dishwasher or washing machine).

Included in the download :
  • PDF crochet pattern for a dish sponge ball with an embroidered face (diameter approx. 7 cm)
  • PDF crochet pattern for a dishcloth (size: approx. 20 cm x 20 cm)
Both patterns include a short version and a detailed, illustrated pattern, as well as crochet basics with all stitches used.

The embroidered little face gives the dish sponge ball a fun touch. If the ball is pushed outward
(unfilled), it is a smiling dish sponge; pushed inward, it is a “Halloween face.” If left without a “face,” the ball also looks lovely as a Christmas ornament .

Materials for 1 dishcloth + 1 dish sponge ball:
Rico Creative Bubble, 100% polyester (50 g – 100 m, washable at 60 °C in the dishwasher),
e.g., 50 g color 007 Light Blue + 50 g (or leftover yarn) col. 012 Black,
crochet hook 4.0; scissors, yarn needle for sewing in ends.

Advent, which is often called the contemplative season, is also often a very hectic time for many people. All the better when you can really relax on the weekend. With a simple crocheted infinity scarf, you can forget the hustle and bustle.
It is crocheted from yarn with a yardage of 88 m per 25 g. The pattern is simple—not necessarily for beginners, but if you know double crochet and chain stitches, it should work out.

You can find the pattern here.

A lovely weekend project that can actually be completed in just one weekend using thick yarn is this crocheted fringed scarf. What makes it special is that the fringes are attached to the sides rather than the ends. Very fashionable!
This pattern is also suitable for beginners—the scarf is basically made entirely of double crochet stitches.
