Well, actually… I’d sworn to myself I’d go on a “wool diet” until at least the start of the year. And then, completely unsuspecting, I went to the early Christmas market here in our village last Saturday—it’s called the “Saumarkt” here.
Since there’s never been anything special there, I only put a twenty in my pocket. After all, you never know…
I’m sure you can guess what happened. Right in the middle of it all—for the first time, by the way—there was a yarn booth!!! I thought I wasn’t seeing right!
Well, of course I couldn’t resist; it all looked sooo tempting. And once I had that first ball of yarn in my hand… it just didn’t want to leave me. I immediately knew what I wanted to make with it. And the color next to it… just as beautiful!
And since I didn’t have enough money with me, I rushed home and got some more cash. No distance was too far for me when it came to yarn. I’m sure you know how it is.
The result: these 5 balls absolutely had to come home with me. And they’re already looking forward to getting on the needles :-) :-) and to my grandchildren.

That was my early St. Nicholas Day gift to myself.
