It doesn’t necessarily have to be Santa Claus and reindeer, but a little wintry atmosphere in the kitchen never hurts. The “Polar Bear and Penguin” pot holders are so cute that even Christmas grumps will be won over! And they’re definitely useful! They’re double-layered and crocheted using the tapestry technique. This makes them nice and sturdy, and you can slip your hands right into them.
Materials: Catania by Schachenmayr in white, black, gray, soft apricot, and orange, plus a 2.5 mm crochet hook.
The pattern explains the motif row by row, once as a graphic chart and once as a chart table.

If you’re sick of seeing that old Santa Claus, you can turn him into an Easter bunny in the blink of an eye! Even the Christmas grouch will be amazed!
To crochet this reversible doll, you’ll need Catania cotton in the appropriate colors and some fluffy yarn, as well as stuffing and possibly safety eyes.
The pattern is available here!

For “Christmas grumps,” you can simply crochet this decoration in “normal” colors without glitter:

Crochet pattern for Christmas decoration / star / flower

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

And that makes it not just for Christmas: with different yarn, these “flowers” are suitable all year round. Then even “Christmas grumps” will enjoy them.

The PDF pattern has plenty of pictures.

All you need is a yarn remnant of approx. 10 g of metallic yarn, e.g. used here: Nora Madeira, 25 g – 100 m, 80% viscose, 20% metallized polyester for crochet hook size 2.5 - 3.0.
But you can also use any yarn you like with a suitable crochet hook size. The size of the finished piece will then change according to the yarn.
You will also need a size 2.5 crochet hook, scissors, and a yarn needle here.

These crochet skills are required:
chain stitches, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, treble crochet, slip stitches, crocheting in rows, and crocheting in rounds. The pattern includes link tips for crochet techniques.

Why not try a self-crocheted Advent calendar in a snowman outfit. You can hide nice little treats inside that might soften up any Christmas grump.

You will receive a detailed 21-page pattern with lots of photos for quick crocheting.
Also suitable for beginners.
You should know how to crochet single crochet stitches, half double crochet stitches, as well as chain and slip stitches.
The size of the snow gnomes is approx. 10 cm with hats; Fridolin is approx. 20 cm tall (also with a hat)

Materials needed:
  • Crochet hook sizes 2.5 & 3.5, sewing needle
  • approx. 200 g white yarn - needle size 3 - 4
  • Yarn in various colors (a good opportunity to use up leftover yarn :)
  • 24 pairs of safety eyes, 23 small wooden beads size 10 mm,
  • 6 small white beads size 5 mm and stuffing

A true Christmas grouch is characterized by the fact that by early November at the latest, he starts to panic, and as soon as the first Christmas songs ring out in the department stores, sheer horror grips him. He would love to emigrate or book a Christmas vacation in time so he can be far away during the "most contemplative time of the year." Unfortunately, that isn’t always possible, because dear relatives...
To avoid completely spoiling the holiday for the Christmas grouch, I recommend giving him a pillow. Then he can slink off to the next room and take a nap while the rest of the group sings Christmas songs. For the Christmas grouch, that’s almost as good as emigrating.

Here is the pattern.

This cushion cover is knitted from cotton in two different colors. It has an intricate pattern that the Christmas grouch can then contemplate meditatively, if he can’t sleep through all the singing, to calm his nerves.

For particularly stubborn cases of Christmas carol allergy and Christmas tree phobia, you could also consider a headband. The Christmas grouch can then pull it down over their ears, not without first putting earplugs in their ears so they definitely won't hear anything.

Here is the pattern.

This headband is easy to knit, quick to finish, and the grouch will thank you for it!

Crochet pattern Advent Calendar Frau Holle, also as a door wreath
Maybe even those who aren’t usually into it will get a bit of Christmas spirit when Frau Holle leaves nice messages behind her shutters—they don’t cost any money and are often worth more than expensive gifts.
Not only as an Advent calendar but also as a door wreath, Frau Holle creates a wintry atmosphere.

Details & pattern for Frau Holle

To make this, you should be familiar with the following: magic ring, chain stitches, slip stitches, single crochet, half double crochet, as well as increasing and decreasing stitches.
The pattern is written without abbreviations.

Anyone who doesn’t like a traditional Christmas is—at least in my experience—more likely to be happy with practical gifts. It has to be something useful. My husband, for example, is an angler, so naturally he wears rubber boots when fishing. And so he doesn’t get cold feet while (night) fishing, I always give him nice warm felt insoles for his boots. But it would also be a practical gift for hunters or people who have to work outside a lot.

In the photo you can see that the felt insoles can also be placed in clogs. They just couldn’t be photographed in the rubber boots; it was too dark ;-)

Why not give something useful for Christmas;

whether animal-themed or Christmassy;
you can always use these sponges, and they make the kitchen beautifully colorful.

Take a look in my shop; there you’ll find lots of sponges

That describes me well, because I’m a Christmas grouch myself. However, I do like a bit of cozy atmosphere indoors.

A poinsettia always looks good as a plant, even after the holidays. How about presenting this poinsettia in a matching cover, whether in your own home or as a gift?

Here is the plant pot cover for the poinsettia

To go with it, there are little Christmas stars that can be used for many purposes.
