Birds + Poultry +++ Make Lanterns for St. Martin by Hand

Dear users, dear authors,
for St. Martin in November, poultry traditionally has to lose its feathers. But here on Crazypatterns, that’s not the case—no one gets slaughtered here. But you know how it goes: where there’s planing, there are shavings. Similarly: where there are birds, there are loose feathers too.
Feather trim is fittingly on trend. It would surely look good with a poncho. Feather boas may not be quite practical for everyday wear and also not washable, but what won’t you do for an elegant entrance. :-) If you like, you can also turn the feathers into a dreamcatcher; that will be wonderful.

Get the patterns and then get started.

More birds.
More ducks.
More geese.
More swans.
More owls.
More doves.
More animals.
More lanterns for St. Martin.

@Authors,
2–3 patterns per author are enough. Don’t forget the link and image, as well as the usual information.

Here I have something that fits in two ways: a St. Martin's lantern with a bird on it!

This owl lantern is made from photo cardstock and tracing paper, about 25 x 26 x 10 cm in size, nice and compact, and easy for even small children to carry. With a little crafting experience, the lantern can be recreated quickly and easily.

The flamingo is a very special bird—it’s definitely not going to be slaughtered! It symbolizes true love, and who doesn’t want to find that?
You can crochet this flamingo in no time. It looks very decorative on a windowsill or in a bouquet as a floral pick. It’s crocheted from pink cotton or fluffy yarn using only single crochet stitches.

The little owl “Chef Cook” is a cute little gift for anyone who enjoys cooking and/or likes owls. Inside the keychain there is a small pocket for a shopping cart token. That way you’ll always have it with you. The owl can be crocheted quickly on the side using a few leftover yarn scraps.

These fence owls can be crocheted with any yarn you like; the pattern is written so that the owls can be adapted to any fence-slat size.

An old familiar friend for your home

Stork Adebar is widely known for his precious cargo. He is said to bite women so they become pregnant and to "deliver" the babies. These are probably just nice stories about this nevertheless lovely-looking feathered friend.

Still, everyone knows him and everyone loves him. He is simply a welcome guest in our homes and on our rooftops.

With this pattern, Adebar can move in with you. Or you can crochet the lucky charm for a pregnant friend for the birth. But Adebar can also be a dear companion and bearer of good wishes for friends who would like to become pregnant.

With this pair of swans, love will also move into your home visually and show every visitor how much the residents love each other.
