Actually, the summer was a little too hot for my taste. But other than that, I was very happy. It was the first “summer of my life” (not counting school) that I didn’t spend working from morning to night, and I see that as a luxury and a gift of time. Finally, time to do what I enjoy doing and finally time for the people who matter.
I spent a lot of time out in nature—in the mountains and forests. I just love it out there :-) It was all very relaxed. Yes, taking a breather and relaxing—that was my summer.
I found the summer a bit too wet and, apart from the last few days, too cold as well. This year, I’m really stressed out and frustrated after the holidays. We couldn’t really enjoy the garden because of the weather, but the lawn sprinkler got a vacation instead ;)
A vacation at home isn’t nice....
For me, the summer—just like the weather—has been a mixed bag.
There was a little bit of everything: sunshine, muggy heat, and even a refreshing thunderstorm.
Delicious barbecues, great bike rides, my godchild’s first day of school, my nephew’s 18th birthday, content cats, rain barrels that never run dry, lots of snails in the garden, traffic jams on the highways, and much more.......
But the best thing about this summer is that my health is improving :):):)
Now I’m looking forward to fall with all its beautiful aspects, and I’ll be going on vacation again, too.
The summer here at Lake Chiemsee was hot and humid, with a few thunderstorms that caused quite a bit of damage among my friends (heating control system broken by a lightning strike, computers wrecked, and so on).
I don’t handle this humidity very well and prefer dry heat when it’s hot. You just can’t pick and choose. Humid, muggy weather is like “Civil Servant Mikado” — meaning whoever moves first loses (civil servants, please forgive this joke). The cooler weather right now is doing me a world of good. Now I’m looking forward to late summer with more pleasant temperatures, also for mountain hikes — and of course for knitting and crocheting :-))
@Petra: Health is the most important thing of all. It’s nice when things are looking up.
@Diana: I wish you a lovely vacation. The weather will surely get better again.
As the saying goes: “Things won’t stay lopsided forever, and 100 years isn’t long.” In that spirit..
I’m enjoying life as it “comes my way” ;)
Unfortunately, the summer was pretty hit-or-miss weather-wise, which—combined with the house renovation—meant we only went to the outdoor pool once... Normally, we still pop over there with the kids every now and then, at least in the late afternoon and early evening, but this year it actually only worked out once—well, maybe we’ll still get a few hot days in September, and otherwise we’ll just be heading to the indoor pool more often again.
I’ve been thrilled to see how well the kids have settled into our new home here, playing in the garden and coming and going in the neighborhood as if they’d always lived here. And we grown-ups have also been welcomed here with open arms—it really is a great quality of life when neighbors are more than just strangers...
I’ve had more time for crafts so far than I expected, since the little one demands that I lie next to him while he sleeps, but isn’t bothered by the light. So every nap time becomes crochet time for me :)
Things are going very well for me here at CP; the kids are healthy and happy. My only wish is that my husband had more free time, since his desk is about to collapse under the weight of paperwork and he hasn’t been able to take a single day off while the kids were on holiday...
We also had a wonderful summer. I spent a lot of time with my son, and we enjoyed the sun at the pool. Our beautiful garden is our little oasis, and we’re now refreshed and ready to tackle lots of new ideas.
Well, we had a fantastic summer, too!
A beach vacation in Croatia, a diving trip in Egypt, and the sun didn’t let us down in our own garden this summer!
And then we found out that our neighbor wants to sell his garden...
Folks, things are looking good... maybe I’ll get my studio soon *yay*
My family is doing great all around, my little boy is already looking forward to school, our dog is happy - what more could you want?
Business-wise, I can’t complain either; the summer season was unexpectedly good.
I was still busy throughout the summer getting my apartment in shape—though I still haven’t put up wallpaper on all the walls.
Weather-wise, the summer here was a mix of hot, humid weather with thunderstorms and almost autumnal coolness.
Otherwise, it wasn’t much different from other seasons, with me working on designs and editing stories.
