Dear users, dear authors,

Tip: Also great as a gift.

@Authors,

A pot holder where you can add your very own personal message. Gingerbread hearts will soon be popping up everywhere again. But this one won’t threaten your figure, because it’s a practical pot holder you can actually slip your hand into. It turns out quite large, so you won’t burn your fingers so easily.
It’s also easy to crochet, even for beginners. When it comes to decorating, there are no limits to your imagination!

This potholder is considered a classic for crochet beginners.

For this, you will need 50 g cotton yarn per color for a size 4.5 crochet hook.

The PDF pattern is illustrated, but it is not a crochet course in itself.

The following basic crochet skills are required: (turning) chain stitch, single crochet, and slip stitch.

You can learn TUNISIAN CROCHET with this pattern:

Potholder 'It's so green' - Tunisian crochet

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

A touch of fresh spring green as kitchen decor or for real use as a potholder made from 100% cotton – a useful little gift for all kinds of occasions.

Both the PDF pattern for the potholder and the pattern for the crochet flower(s) are illustrated step by step. Basic regular crochet skills are enough.

Materials
:
For 1 standard-size potholder, 21 cm x 21 cm: 50 g light green + 50 g dark green crochet yarn made from 100% cotton/plant fiber for heat resistance, e.g. Schoeller+Stahl Record 210, 50 g- 90 m, according to the label 16 sts x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm), so 50 g per color for the Tunisian crochet hook up to max. size 4.5.

For the flower(s), a leftover bit of cotton yarn is enough, e.g. Catania (Schachenmayr) or Limone (Schoeller+Stahl), for crochet hook size 2.5 - 3.5.

Potholder with Small Hearts Using the Double-Knitting Technique

For this potholder, you’ll need cotton yarn in two different colors. When double-knitting, I recommend choosing a needle size slightly smaller than what’s indicated on the yarn label. The technique isn’t exactly easy—so this isn’t a beginner’s pattern—but it produces a stunning result. You end up with two mirror-image sides, and the fabric is twice as thick, which is ideal for a potholder.
The pattern is presented in a knitting chart.

A simple knit-purl pattern makes these potholders a quick success. You'll need thick cotton yarn; a leftover of about 40 m is enough.

You can find the pattern here.

Potholder Hedwig the Owl

Every beginning is hard—everyone probably knows that saying.

95% of crochet beginners start with a potholder to practice the stitches they have learned... In most cases it is a pretty square, and those who dare add different colors.

But does it always have to be this square potholder ... the one that usually disappears somewhere into oblivion?
Some time ago, one of my course participants asked me this question... and what can I say.... I thought about it briefly and said to her..."No".
And that is how Hedwig came to be... A potholder that does not disappear into oblivion, practical, decorative, and even suitable for giving as a gift. A beginner piece that will make an impression.

The material usage is low, so even small amounts of leftover yarn are enough to bring Hedwig to life,
The detailed 13-page pattern shows you how. Every step is explained and illustrated with numerous step-by-step pictures. This way you will quickly get a good result.

What you need:
  • Leftover yarn of any type and color
  • Crochet hook 4.0
The free pattern for Hedwig is available here.
