The two egg cozies Hen and Rooster make lovely table decorations all year round. You can crochet them quickly and easily from a few scraps of cotton yarn. You can make the rooster very colorful, but the hen can also be crocheted in different colors. Maybe you’ll make a whole chicken coop to go with the rooster? For every member of the family...

Crocheted decorations for the breakfast table

Ivy vine
Ivy is really lovely for any table decoration; crochet yourself a universal ivy with this pattern.
It won’t wilt, is non-toxic, and is a timeless decoration throughout the home for any occasion.

Details & pattern are available here

The vines shown are made from dark green crochet thread with a size 2 hook
and one from green cotton yarn in size 2.5

You will crochet with
  • magic ring
  • chain and slip stitches
  • single crochet stitches
  • double crochet and treble crochet stitches
If you are familiar with these stitches, beginners should also be able to manage the pattern.

The pattern is written without abbreviations, and every step is supported with photos.

For me, flowers are simply part of table decorations, and with pretty “packaging,” breakfast is twice as much fun!
And you don’t need expensive vases for that—just put a jam jar or preserving jar—or even a flowerpot—into the hand-knitted cover, “decorate” it nicely, e.g. with the knitted rose also included in the pattern, or shells, or cords, or beads....., add flowers—even wildflowers will do—and the breakfast table is already invitingly decorated! The vase cover in the shape of a pouch is super easy and quick to knit (even for beginners) and, depending on the material, can be used for many purposes, e.g. also as a bread roll bag, Easter nest, gift wrapping....

And here’s the knitting pattern:

Have fun knitting, and wishing you a lovely Sunday breakfast,
Annette

These cute little gnomes turn Sunday breakfast into a fun experience. They instantly spread good cheer everywhere they go. For example, they’re a huge hit as egg cozies. But that’s not all. They actually have a lot of useful functions:

  • You can use them to wrap gifts (e.g., money, jewelry, candy, and much more).
  • They make a cute little gift for young and old alike.
  • They keep your knitting and crochet supplies safe, such as buttons.
  • You can also store jewelry inside them.
  • They also make a great Advent calendar.
  • They’re a huge hit at kids’ birthday parties and are sure to bring lots of joy.
  • And of course, they’re also a great toy for kids.

I’d describe the difficulty level as easy. It just takes a little patience and skill to shape the faces.

Beginners with the basic skills mentioned here can easily and quickly recreate these gnomes.

The individual steps are described in detail in the pattern. The PDF file is 21 pages long and includes 53 individual photos.

When will the gnomes be on your breakfast table?

Every perfect Sunday breakfast calls for a big cup of coffee! And every big cup of coffee deserves a placemat for coffee lovers! :)

These doilies are crocheted using the mini C2C technique, which I’ll of course explain in the pattern.

What you’ll need:

♦ Crochet yarn in your chosen colors; recommended: cotton with a length of 125 m / 50 g, e.g., Schachenmayr Catania or Scheepjes Catona. Background color: approx. 2 skeins; all other colors: less than 1 skein
♦ Crochet hook: For the yarns mentioned, I recommend a 3 mm hook. If you’re using a different yarn, you may need a different hook.
♦ Sewing needle to weave in the ends
♦ A pair of scissors to trim off leftover yarn

The stitches you’ll need are chain stitches, half double crochets, and slip stitches.

Get the pattern here and get started right away! :)

Have fun!

"Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future. Concentrate on the present moment." - QUOTE Buddha
And with that in mind—enjoy the time with your loved ones around a beautifully decorated table!

A detailed description guides you through the crochet process.
For clarification, the pattern includes 3 charts of the motifs, 1 crochet chart, as well as a pictured step-by-step explanation for the color change.

The finished table runner is approximately 158 x 45 cm in size. However, the specified gauge and the crochet area between the motifs allow room for individual lengths.

And here you can find the pattern and more details...
