Materials needed:

Every kitchen needs pot holders. Whether for hot pots and pans or for a hot baking tray straight from the oven. But not every pot holder has to look old-fashioned or grandma-style. These cool shark oven mitts not only look great, they’re also a fantastic kitchen helper.

They’re super quick to crochet and make a great gift—or a treat for yourself. You could even use this shark as a hand puppet. The pattern is very easy to follow and includes pictures.

What you’ll need :

Gründl Cotton Fun yarn (100% cotton) 50 g = 115 m LL

• Gray approx. 120 g
• White approx. 60–70 g
• A small amount of black

Please don’t use cotton yarn that is too thin, because you’ll be using it to handle hot items, so it’s better to choose something a bit thicker. You should allow for about 40 meters of yarn. And if you use a nice, colorful shade, you’ll also have a pretty eye-catcher for your kitchen.
The pattern consists of knit and purl stitches. It is written out row by row, and there is also a knitting chart.

This is an interesting technique and well suited for pot holders because it is double-sided. The knitted piece also becomes twice as thick. For this, you also need cotton, approx. 45 m of each color.
