To make sure your “style” is just right on the first day of school after the holidays, here’s the perfect jewelry:

Choker and wrap bracelet in a wave pattern

Chokers—the trendy accessory from the ’90s—are back. This fashion trend spices up any outfit and is a real eye-catcher.

Chokers can be paired with a wide variety of outfits.

Wrap bracelets are also all the rage and always make a beautiful and trendy accessory. You can also make several bracelets in different colors and mix and match them.

These pieces of jewelry are quick to crochet and super comfortable to wear. They also make a great gift or little present. By adjusting the length, you can turn the bracelet into a cute anklet.

Materials: Anchor Aida crochet yarn or Woll Butt Diana, size 10; 2.0 mm crochet hook; sewing needle.
Additionally for the choker: a few large-hole beads, 5 mm in diameter. Additionally for the bracelet: a clasp with an extension chain, 8 mm wide.

Required skills: Chain stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, and double crochet.
Detailed instructions available as a PDF file with text and crochet chart.

Little Owl Leonie is already eagerly waiting for the first day of school!

She is already so curious about all the new things she will learn at school and all the new friends who are waiting for her! And of course she is also very proud of her big colorful school cone and her smart new school satchel! :-D School can start now!

To make her, you will need:

  • any yarn in orange, red, light green, and light blue, plus a small amount of white for the eyes
  • a matching crochet hook
  • 2 safety eyes or black beads
  • stuffing
So crochet this little learning motivator for your schoolchild too, and help Leonie conquer the world of numbers and letters! You can find the pattern here >>>

And if your child needs a little help with math homework, I’ve got a real pro for you: Mia the Math Owl!

This quirky little bird loves math problems! She spends the whole day doing sums with her colorful string of beads and just can’t get enough ;-) Learning to count is fun this way!

Little Mia is quick to crochet from a few colorful bits of leftover yarn , and thanks to the detailed pattern, even crochet beginners can easily make her.

Mia also makes a wonderful keychain, a little good-luck charm for kids starting school, or a fun little gift for a child’s birthday party.

All you need is:
  • any yarn in various colors
  • a matching crochet hook
  • 2 black beads for the eyes
  • 20 wooden beads in at least 2 different colors
  • stuffing material
It’s best to crochet a whole flock of owls right away, because your schoolchild’s friends will want one of these cute little math owls too! You can find the pattern here >>>

Little first-graders need a bookmark so they can find the right place in their schoolbook again.

Here is the pattern for it.

A bookmark like this is quick to knit. It has a pretty lace pattern, which is written out in full and also shown in a knitting chart. All you need is a small scrap of cotton yarn and two double-pointed needles in a size suitable for the yarn.

Some children have handicrafts class too. This one is a very special kind of handicrafts bag.

Goldfish bag.

It fits the school subject :-) It is knitted from cotton (yardage 125 m per 50 g), one ball of each color. The fish are shown in a knitting chart. You will also need a crochet hook for the handles.
If it is used for handicrafts, the bag should also be lined so that no needles get caught in the stitches. It closes with a snap fastener.

The little Knobblys not only look funny - they also love dangling from school bags or school cones ♥
With their small size of about 8 cm in diameter, they’re perfect companions for the first days of school :-)

They’re very easy to crochet with the detailed pattern, and there are no limits to your color choices!

For all the impatient first-graders out there, I’ve created this countdown calendar —designed for 30 days, it works just like an Advent calendar: each day, a little drawer is pulled out and emptied. There’s also a surprise hidden in the tip of the pencil: underneath is a small box for colored pencils, paintbrushes, and similar items.

The calendar is made from photo cardstock and measures approximately 14 x 29 x 16 cm. It’s easy to make, but you absolutely must cut and glue precisely so that everything fits together in the end. And you’ll definitely need a bit of patience to create all the little compartments.

Want to fill a school cone with something other than candy for once? You can! With a few finger puppets, you’re sure to delight any first grader!

How about, for example, this funny clown?
Or should they be Punch and Judy puppets? In my shop you’ll find a
special savings offer for 10 Punch and Judy puppets.

There are even more finger puppets in my shop under Finger Puppets.
You can crochet all the finger puppets from leftover cotton yarn you already have.
That will be fun!

Do you perhaps have a soccer-loving child starting school at home? Then how about Mario the Soccer Mouse for their school cone? Simply crochet him in the colors of your new schoolchild’s favorite team and you’re sure to make them happy.

The pattern includes detailed step-by-step instructions, and lots of photos make it easier to crochet. Even ambitious beginners can make the Soccer Mouse.

Schachenmayr Catania was used. However, any other cotton yarn for hook sizes 2.5 - 3.5 can also be used. The mouse is approx. 27 cm tall.

A cool pencil case for the start of school - Kasimir the tomcat makes it possible!

>>> to the pattern <<<

Kasimir the tomcat offers plenty of room for pencils or other small things that are well kept in a case.

Even if he doesn’t look like the sweet tomcat from next door, he’s sure to bring at least a little smile to everyone’s face – don’t you think?

The pattern is richly illustrated and therefore also suitable for ambitious beginners, but the crochet techniques listed below should be known.

Dimensions (case only, without arms/legs/ears/tail):
  • Length: 24 cm
  • Width: 11 cm
Required materials:
  • Cotton yarn (115 m per 50 g) – other yarn can also be used; the case will then be correspondingly larger or smaller
  • The amounts are always rounded up to the next full 5 g:
  • 40 g main color (case) – turquoise/petrol
  • 15 g secondary color 1 – java/orange
  • 15 g secondary color 2 - light green
  • 10 g secondary color 3 - red
  • 5 g white leftover black yarn
  • 1 zipper, 22 cm long, in a matching color + sewing thread for attaching
  • a little stuffing for the eyes
  • crochet hook sizes 2.5 + 3.5
  • darning needle, pins, sewing needle
Skills needed:
  • magic ring
  • chain stitches
  • single crochet, including increases and decreases
  • slip stitches double crochet, including decreases
  • foundation double crochet (if unfamiliar, there are great videos on YouTube)
  • color changes
