Dear users, dear authors,
just right for the weather: the winter contrast program to cool down.
A few snowflakes would be nice, maybe also ice crystals or snowmen. Polar bears and penguins are a must.
It’s too warm for me, but I still hope you enjoy crafting.

@Authors,
2-3 patterns per author are enough as a summer contrast program.
Don’t forget the link and image, as well as material info, technique info, difficulty level info, and details about what makes the pattern special.

A complete contrast to this current crazy summer heat would also be Fridolin Frostig and his snow elves.
It’s never too early to crochet an Advent calendar, because Christmas comes around faster than you think ;)

You’ll receive a detailed 21-page pattern with lots of photos for easy follow-along. Also suitable for beginners.
You should be familiar with single crochet, half double crochet, chain stitches, and slip stitches.

The snow elves are approx. 10 cm tall with their little hats on, and Fridolin is approx. 20 cm tall (also with his hat on)

Materials needed:
  • Crochet hooks size 2.5 & 3.5, sewing needle
  • Approx. 200 g of white yarn, hook size 3–4
  • Yarn in various colors (also a great way to use up leftover yarn :)
  • 24 pairs of safety eyes, 23 small wooden beads, size 10 mm,
  • 6 small white beads, size 5 mm, and stuffing

If you’re longing for a bit of a cool-down, you can at least visually immerse yourself in a winter landscape with this hat. Snow-covered trees, snow clouds, and snowflakes are featured here.

You can find the pattern here.

You’ll need blue and white yarn (150 m per 50 g) and 3.5 mm needles—either a set of double-pointed needles or a circular needle. One skein of each color is enough.
The hat comes in 3 different sizes.

Here’s another hat with a stylized winter landscape. This one takes us into the snow-covered mountains. This one, as well as the pattern above, was created for a contest on the theme of winter landscapes.

Pattern for the hat "Montagna"

Three different colors are used here. The yarn is the same as in the previous pattern, 1 ball of each color.
This pattern is available in 4 different sizes.

These 3 wintry egg cozies are crocheted from cool cotton. You’ll only need a small amount of material, so you can make them even in the height of summer without breaking a sweat. And during Advent, you’ll have a great table decoration that you might even give away as a Secret Santa gift.

These two snowman potholders are also great to make in hot weather. You can dream of cooler temperatures while you work.
The pattern is very easy and absolutely suitable for beginners. You’ll need white cotton yarn (about 120 g) and scraps in orange, pink, light blue, and black.

An eye-catcher on any table during the winter season! :-)

The table runner is crocheted with Schachenmayr Catania using a size 3 crochet hook
and mine measures
88 cm long and 30 cm wide!
The amount of yarn needed is listed in the pattern! The pattern is 24 pages long, includes pictures, and is explained in great detail,
so even beginners can easily make this beautiful table runner!

I’m probably one of the few who’s really enjoying the weather right now. But for everyone who finds it too hot, I have some cooling snowflakes in my range:

The snowflakes are cut out of tissue paper or similarly thin paper. The finished snowflakes are about 20 cm in size. You’ll get templates for a total of 18 snowflakes, which are very easy to make and, depending on your skill level, are also suitable for children.

This cute snowflake definitely won’t melt in these high summer temperatures.... Promise !!!!

It’s also quick and easy to crochet—and maybe it’ll provide a tiny bit of cooling, at least visually!

Fancy some snow?

A scarf with cables, ribbing, texture, and lace—it’s got it all. It’s knitted with sock yarn on 3.5mm needles and looks harder than it is.

A wonderfully lightweight poncho - but still very warm thanks to the camel hair.
The technique is basically kept simple - but the small cable border adds the finishing touch!

What's more, the beadwork snowmen incorporated into it look very lovely and at the same time serve as weighting, ensuring a neat drape.

This pattern is designed for sizes 38/40.
However, the included schematic and the gauge make it possible to work any size!

A detailed description guides you through the entire knitting process.

And here’s the pattern and more details...

My Mini-Batzis Christmas set also includes a snowman. And with the pattern, you can also crochet a Santa Claus and a Christmas angel, as well as a fir tree.

The pattern includes lots of pictures and detailed step-by-step explanations, so it can also be made successfully by beginners.

The yarn used was Catania by Schachenmayr, but you can also use any other cotton yarn for hook size 2.5 - 3.5.
