The knitted shawl Tinuviel is a dream come true for all lovers of color gradients and delicate lace knitting.

Tinuviel is a large, crescent-shaped shawl designed specifically for Schoppel’s “Laceball 100” and “Zauberball 100” lace yarns, but it can also be knitted with any other lace yarn (or even a yarn cake). It is knitted from the top down, with even increases along the edge and within the shawl to create its shape.

Materials needed:
  • approx. 800 meters of lace yarn (e.g. Laceball by Schoppel)
  • circular knitting needle, size 3–4 mm

  • a piece of very thin wire or dental floss
  • sewing needle
  • scissors
  • kitchen scale

Required skills:
  • knit stitches
  • purl stitches
  • yarn overs
  • knitting stitches together

If you decide to incorporate beads, you’ll find a short tutorial on knitting them in later in the pattern.
The pattern is 9 pages long and includes detailed charts (knitting charts - not written instructions) and a schematic.
Difficulty level: intermediate.

And best of all: for a short time only, you can save 20% on this pattern! With a store credit account, you’ll get an additional 5% off!

Amrun is a chic knitted shawl that pairs perfectly with a casual jeans outfit.

Clear, almost geometric shapes alternate with an interesting color scheme in this chic knitted shawl with the beautiful name Amrun , giving it a sporty touch.
The shawl is started with just a few stitches at the tip and worked upward toward the top edge.

You can knit this shawl with many different types of yarn, such as sock yarn, cotton, or other cozy yarns—you’ll always get a great result!

The yarn used should not be thicker than DK (8-ply wool).

Materials needed:
  • Approx. 600 meters of yarn, up to DK weight
  • Circular knitting needle in the appropriate size and length (I recommend an interchangeable needle system like the one from Knitpro)
  • Stitch markers
  • Yarn needle
Skills required:
  • knit stitches
  • purl stitches
  • yarn overs
  • knitting stitches together
  • changing yarn (when working with multiple colors)

The pattern is 9 pages long and includes written instructions as well as detailed charts.

Difficulty level: medium.

Crochet Pattern: Triangular Shawl for Any Yarn

(Click the image to purchase/download )

For this triangular shawl suitable for all seasons , you can basically use any yarn you like—the thinner the yarn, the more elegant the result. Size: any size.

For the dimensions shown here—approx. 70 cm x 162 cm—I used 350 g of Schachenmayr Cotton Bamboo (50 g – 120 m), with a hook size of 3–4 according to the label (here, a 4.0 mm crochet hook). I wouldn’t recommend using thicker yarn for aesthetic reasons. I decided not to block the shawl, as this allows the curves of the shell pattern to stand out better—but that’s a matter of personal taste.

The following crochet skills are required:
chain stitches, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, front post double crochet (explained).

The PDF pattern is illustrated but does not constitute a crochet course. Links and video recommendations for crochet courses, among other things, are included.

The PDF contains

  • in the first part, a detailed pattern with corresponding illustrations,
  • in the second part, a shorter version that is also illustrated, and
  • last but not least, a brief version of a scarf/shawl variation.

Difficulty level: easy to medium—no crochet chart—no gauge required

Hexen Triangular Shawl

Here is a shawl with a simple pattern. You decide the finished size yourself, because the row repeats allow it to be crocheted in any size you like.

No gauge is given, as it can be crocheted with any yarn or wool. You decide the finished size yourself. With the 4-ply / 800 m Bobbel it measured 160 x 70 cm, and with the 3-ply / 1000 m Bobbel it measured 185 x 80 cm.

Both were crocheted with a size 3 hook. The pattern describes the design in words and in a crochet chart. There is a photo explanation for the witch’s broom. Of course, everything is explained step by step. Optionally, it can be made with the finishing border. The shawl was test crocheted. Material:
  • Bobbel 4-ply 200 g / 800 m
  • Bobbel 3-ply 200 g / 1000 m
  • Crochet hook no. 3
Skills needed:
  • chain stitch
  • single crochet
  • double crochet
  • front post double crochet
  • back post double crochet
  • front post single crochet

Openwork Shoulder Shawl/Scarf – Easy – Knitted

(Click the image to purchase/download )

A feather-light lace shawl (yarn: 150 g Austermann Caleido Lace for approx. 42 cm x 112 cm) in a simple openwork pattern —also ideal for yarn cakes—that can be worn as a shoulder shawl, scarf, or even a scarf hat. The length is adjustable.

Basic knitting skills (casting on, knit and purl stitches, edge stitches, yarn overs / knitting together, binding off) are sufficient for this simple openwork pattern.

***************************************************************************************************************
By the way:
For patterns requiring a number of stitches “divisible by … plus …,” we recommend this Excel spreadsheet:
Gauge Conversion Table – Crochet and Knitting (click here)
This requires Excel or another spreadsheet program available online as a free download, such as LibreOffice.
Here’s how it works:
Enter your gauge result and the details for the specific pattern, and the required number of stitches will appear automatically.
