Crochet Pattern: Small Beach Bag







Head to the beach with just the essentials? This little bag is perfect for that. Even if sandy seashells or other
souvenirs from the beach find their way inside, it’s no problem—it’s fully washable. A zipper ensures that the contents
are securely stowed away, and the carrying strap can be easily
shortened with a knot. Plus, it takes up hardly any space in your vacation luggage. It’s crocheted using the knit stitch in the tapestry crochet technique. The knit stitch is explained in the pattern. The pattern is written without abbreviations.

Details & Pattern

With the help of this pattern, you can crochet a beautiful bag for summer yourself. The bag has a sturdy leather base and can be made with variable width/height.

• The pattern includes detailed pictures and is suitable for beginners with basic crochet knowledge. This pattern is quite easy because you only need to know chain stitches, single crochet, and slip stitches.
• Materials list: 1x leather bag base in your desired size. For this bag, I used the leather base measuring 36x12 cm.
• Bag magnetic clasp, 18 mm, silver-colored.
• Tear-resistant sewing thread.
• Crochet hook size 6 or size 7.

You are welcome to use any yarn you like. I used 100% cotton/Cotton Cord Print by Katia (50g/100m). I used 6 skeins (300g). My finished bag has a height (without handles) of approx. 29 cm and a width of approx. 22 cm.

Well hatted - ready for summer..with a crocheted hat made of “paper.” The cellulose material is featherlight and can be “scrunched up” into any bag. Rafia "yarns" are either raffia or viscose, depending on the manufacturer. Of course, it can also be crocheted with other yarns with a similar yardage and hook size (see below).


Basic crochet skills for crocheting in rounds are enough.

The PDF pattern is illustrated step by step for head circumferences from 52 cm to 55 cm and can easily be adapted for a different head circumference (this is described in the pattern). Also included are a summary for printing as well as links and tips for beginners.

We need: approx. 85 g (= 4 skeins of 25 g each) Rafia (Adriafil), 100% cellulose (wood pulp), hand wash, 25 g – approx. 50 m yardage, for crochet hook size 4.5 – 5.0,

You definitely need a bag when you go to the beach. You can throw the towel over your shoulder, you can put on the bikini, but the suntan oil! And the snack! You can't do without a bag.

Here is one that fits the beach.



It's knitted from cotton; you'll need two colors of it, 3 mm circular knitting needles, and off you go. It's finished quickly. You can still get it done by the weekend.
(I would carry the Jolly ice pop in my hand and lick it really quickly...)

Essential at the beach is a beautiful, airy scarf that provides good protection for your décolleté from too much sun exposure without adding bulk, or that can be draped loosely around your hips.
Just like the gorgeous Peara scarf. 



The incorporated beads give it that special finishing touch. But even without beads, it is a real eye-catcher. Shawl and pareo in one: that’s the knitted shawl Auenland . As a chic accessory at the beach, it’s just the right thing.



Auenland was inspired by the homeland of the Hobbits. A pretty floral pattern alternates with knit stitches and makes knitting fun even for beginners.

Franz’s side fin is removable.
Summer, sun, beach, and......fish. Fränzchen can easily be crocheted on the go, and if you still haven’t had enough in the evening, you can simply continue with Franz the pillow. 2 patterns, one great result!
Franz and Fränzchen are easy to crochet...chain stitches, single crochet, and increases and decreases. 
The pillow requires approx. 200 g of yarn, and little Franz makes do with just approx. 80 g of yarn. 
There is a pillow insert inside Franz, and Fränzchen is stuffed with stuffing.
