While looking for a new idea for a small keychain or bag charm, I had a bright idea :) And here they are, the funny little light bulbs. They shine in the most colorful colors and are an eye-catcher on any keyring or bag. The little light bulbs make a lovely gift for any kind of exam, for example. Whether for school graduation, high school graduation, or the final exam of vocational training, the light bulbs always keep their composure. But the very best thing is: You only need leftover yarn, and they can be crocheted in no time.

The light bulbs are also perfect for beginners.

• Size of the light bulbs: Height: approx. 7 cm. Depending on the yarn and crochet hook size, the size of the funny light bulbs may vary.

I crocheted the light bulbs with Catania yarn by Schachenmayr (yardage: 50 g = 125 m).

Materials needed:

• Catania: leftover in the main color (approx. 5-6 g), leftover in black and light gray
• Crochet hook size 2, embroidery needle, sewing needle, sewing thread, stuffing, leftover white and black felt, a drop of craft or textile glue, and a key ring.

The pattern includes 9 pages with many pictures.

Required skills: single crochet stitches, magic ring, and increasing and decreasing stitches

What wonderful things you can conjure up from leftover yarn :) The best example is these cute, funny, and fluffy leftover-yarn dogs. A truly colorful little bunch :) Take your leftover yarn and crochet colorful, color-coordinated,
fluffy, large or small dogs. They are crocheted in no time and will delight every heart.

• Size of the Catania leftover-yarn dogs: approx. 12 cm
• Size of the fluffy leftover-yarn dog: approx. 20 cm. Depending on the yarn and crochet hook size, the size of the leftover-yarn dogs will vary.

The pattern is also suitable for beginners thanks to the many pictures.

I crocheted the small leftover-yarn dogs with Catania yarn from Schachenmayr (yardage: 50g=125m). I crocheted the large leftover-yarn dog with Flausch yarn from myboshi (yardage: 50g = 90m)
. For the eyes of the fluffy leftover-yarn dog, I used Bravo from Schachenmayr (yardage: 50g = 133m).

Materials needed:

• Catania: light blue, approx. 20g, medium blue, approx. 20g, pink, approx. 5 g, one small leftover each in beige, bright pink, and white
• Flausch: leftovers in three different colors
• Bravo: leftovers in white and black
• Crochet hook sizes 2 / 3.5 / 4.5 and 5, embroidery needle, sewing needle, sewing thread, stuffing, and a small leftover piece of black felt

The charms are quick to make and ideal for using up leftover yarn in a cute way.
For all cat fans and dog lovers. As a keychain or bag charm. 
10–20 g leftover wool/yarn, the matching crochet hook (2–3), a little stuffing, and, if desired, two small eyes if they aren’t going to be embroidered. Chain stitches, single crochet, increases and decreases. Then the charm is practically finished :-) Anyone who has crocheted occasionally will enjoy making the cat and/or the dog.

Cotton works best, but even small scraps of sock yarn will yield a result worth seeing. About 20 meters per bookmark is enough.
The bookmark features a lace pattern that resembles leaves. A large knitting chart helps you keep track of the pattern, but the pattern is also written out row by row.

With the help of this pattern, you can crochet a pretty skirt (any size). The comfortable elastic is worked directly into the waistband as you crochet, making it easier for the child to put on and take off.

• Materials List: This pattern is ideal for using up leftover yarn.
• The amount of yarn needed varies depending on the size of the skirt. I crocheted this skirt for my 4-year-old daughter and used a total of 130 g of yarn. I used Katia Cotton Stretch (87% cotton, 13% polyester) 50 g, 170 m. However, you’re welcome to use a different yarn, such as cotton or a cotton-blend yarn.

Noose, the Knot Loop + Noose, the Warm One

1 pattern, 2 Nooses
Why even more? Because it was so much fun, the Nooses look so different, and I just couldn’t stop. (Careful, it’s addictive :-) )
These two Nooses are based on “Noose, the Sun,” but are larger and also become significantly wider toward the bottom so they drape around the shoulders. (This is a standalone pattern; Noose, the Sun, is not required)
There are also lots of new elements to crochet in.

What do we need?

• Between 150 g and 200 g of yarn. I used leftover sock yarn here, but any other yarn works too, whether thick or thin; the leftover yarn should match in thickness.
• Suitable knitting needles and crochet hooks
• Scissors
• Sewing needle

Difficulty level:
Knitting: very easy, just stockinette stitch
Crochet: varies. Double crochet and chain stitches are a must; everything else is optional :-)

Leftover yarn of all kinds works well for my crochet ball.



Lots of colorful granny squares are crocheted, and a balloon goes inside as the filling, which you can replace as often as you like. For very little ones, the balloon is inflated with just a little air, so the baby can grasp the ball very early on; later, inflated more firmly, it’s ideal for playing indoors or in the garden.

Thanks to the replaceable balloon, the cover is easy to wash and dries quickly, too.
