Spring is here, and inspired by nature I designed this airy summer top, which can be worn in spring as well as in summer and is an eye-catcher thanks to the zigzag pattern.

The summer top consists of three different crochet patterns, which are explained here in the form of crochet charts as well as written descriptions. Many photos also help you

The information is for size M/L. Of course, I indicate approximately how many pattern repeats you need to plan for other sizes.

Difficulty level: Easy to Intermediate

What you need for it:

Yarn:
200 grams each of two different colors (e.g. white/lilac) of Gründl Cotton Light (100 g = 200 m)
Recommended hook size 4, plus a yarn needle and scissors

You should know the following stitches:

chain stitches, slip stitches, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, simple sewing together

This airy summer top is perfect for the beach or for your next evening outfit when paired with a matching top underneath and light-colored 3/4-length pants. If you extend the main pattern by several pattern repeats, you can easily turn it into a gorgeous beach dress.

Thanks to two snaps, you can wear this top in two different styles. One style features classic straps that unfasten at the back and tie together at the nape of the neck, turning it into a halter top .

A total of four different patterns are used here. The patterns are fully diagrammed and also provided in written form, so you can choose whether to work from the crochet chart or the written instructions.

Difficulty level : Easy

Required skills :

Chain stitches, single crochet, half double crochet, and double crochet, slip stitch, picot

Yarn:

Approx. 200–300 gr. of any yarn cake—4-ply—1000–1500 m, 2 snaps Recommended hook size: 3.5

With the help of this pattern, you can crochet a pretty tunic/top for summer. This tunic/top is chic and goes with many outfits.

• It was crocheted with a soft, high-quality yarn made of 55% silk and 45% cotton, making it very comfortable to wear. Of course, any other yarn can be used, but for summer I recommend using a cotton blend yarn. For size 38, I used ten half skeins (yardage 1200 m, 260g).

The pattern  is detailed with photos and suitable for beginners with basic crochet knowledge. This pattern is very easy because you only need to know chain stitches, double crochet, and single crochet. Crochet hook size 4

Knitting pattern: summer top with waterfall collar

This summer top with the unusual collar knits up quickly.

The download also includes an Excel spreadsheet for converting your individual gauge. For this you will need Excel or LibreOffice; the latter is available for free download online.

The PDF pattern is illustrated, but it is not a basic knitting course (link for basic knitting techniques included).

Difficulty level: medium / easy for experienced knitters.

These knitting skills are required:
cast on stitches, purl and knit stitches, yarn over, knit stitches together, slip-knit-pass-over decrease (explained), increase from the strand between stitches, bind off stitches.

We need for sizes S/M/L: 300 g cotton (blend) ribbon yarn, Keiki by Austermann used here, 63% cotton, 37 % polyamide, for needle size 5–6, gauge according to the ball band 16 stitches x 23 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm, 50 g–90 m, pins for blocking, tape measure, yarn needle for weaving in ends, scissors, row counter is helpful. Used here: knitting needles size 5.0.

Summer Shirt, Quick to Knit

This easy-to-knit summer model size 38/40 is made from 250 g of cotton-blend yarn for needle size 3.5 - 4.0, 50 g - 125 m.

The PDF pattern includes photos.

The finished shirt has a stretchy back width of approx. 44 cm and is approx. 65 cm long, but it also looks pretty when shorter. Because of the simple pattern (made up of yarn overs, knit and purl stitches) and cut, this piece can be easily adapted to any size.

What else you need:
Measuring tape, scissors, yarn needle for weaving in ends, stitch holder, possibly a set of double-pointed needles size 3.5 - 4.0; row counter and stitch marker are helpful, but not absolutely necessary.

a good fit is guaranteed even after repeated washing.

• For women’s size 36/38, I used approx. 900 m of 4-ply yarn (for larger sizes, plan for correspondingly more)
• Crochet hook appropriate for the yarn (size 3 was used here)
• 4 buttons, 12 mm–15 mm

This pretty summer top can be worn beautifully with a skirt or over pants.


With a bit of perseverance, you can lengthen it into a dress. The pattern is divided by cup sizes:

Cup size A

Cup size B - C

Cup size D - DD

The bust measurement and the length of the top are adjusted individually to the wearer, so larger sizes are of course also possible.
You can also decide whether you would like to wear it as a tank top or as a halter top. There is also a
button placket at the back for a perfect fit.
