here in this thread it's about animals that are either very large in real life or are comparatively large when finished.
Examples could include: elephants, giraffes, dinos, dragons, whales, or also horses.
Tip: Great for children who would like to have a big protector or playmate.

This Brachiosaurus is one of the largest dinosaurs. Using the specified yarn and hook size, it has an impressive length of approx. 88 cm and a height of approx. 30 cm. With a larger
hook size and thicker yarn, it will of course turn out correspondingly larger.

Pterosaurs used to live together in large colonies. But not Freddy... he likes living alone—with a child who plays with him and takes him into their heart.

Using the specified materials, Freddy the pterosaur measures 40 cm from the tip of his beak to the end of his tail.

Personally, I recommend cotton yarn for making all my stuffed animals and amigurumi.

Emilio the elephant, with his big googly eyes, is a cuddly companion.

Using the specified materials, Emilio the elephant measures 31 cm from the tip of his trunk to the soles of his hind legs. I personally recommend cotton yarn for making all of my cuddly toys.

Crochet pattern "Life-Size Eagle"

Bald eagles are not only beautiful and large animals in nature, but also huge when crocheted if you make them using this pattern. This eagle measures 80 cm from head to tail tip and has a wingspan of 2.20 meters when the wings are fully spread out. 

The handmade feathers made from gradient yarn make it look especially realistic.

To make this majestic animal, you need a relatively large amount of material, patience, and experience. 

Difficulty level: Difficult (you should already have good crochet skills)

What you need: 

Supplies: 

•      Tie wire for chain-link fences, approx. 12 meters
  
•      Regular craft wire 5x 
  
•      Thin brown craft wire from Rayer 1x
  
•      Two yellow eyes, approx. 17 mm
•      Some wide elastic band
•      Scissors,  lots of glue, small brush, 5-6 x hairspray and/or spray starch
  
•      Pliers for cutting and bending wire 
  
•      A lot of stuffing (coarse pillow filling for the body + regular stuffing)
  
•     Optional/Recommended: Lead plates approx. 500 g (sometimes available free as scraps from roofing/plumbing companies) or perforated metal plates from the hardware store (the main thing is that they are heavy and flat)

Yarn:      Happy Anti-Pilling (or other yarn for hook size 3.5-5)

Giraffe Peppi              

The giraffe is made with fine crochet thread and will be approx. 27 cm tall. A hook size No. 2–2.5 is suitable. Some stuffing, 2 safety eyes (7 mm), and a blunt needle. If you like crocheting with thicker yarn, the neck will get a bit tricky. But Peppi also looks great as a floppy animal. At least that’s what my neighbor’s girl says ;-) Magic ring, single crochet, and increases and decreases. With approx. 35–40 g of yarn, the giraffe is finished very quickly and can move into your home :-)

These jungle animals are all very big in real life, but crocheted, they all fit on your fingers! With these finger puppets, you can act out the wildest jungle adventures and have tons of fun!

The little animals can be made very quickly and easily from leftover yarn. I used Catania from Schachenmayr (yardage 125 m/50 g) and a 2.5 mm crochet hook. But you can also use another yarn of a similar weight, since the exact size doesn’t matter.

Schnullifant

Cotton yarn was used here, such as Schachenmayr Catania, Gründl Cotton Quick Uni, Katja Capri, or Limone by Schöller & Stahl. You can use any cotton yarn with a yardage of 125 m per 50 g, or of course your favorite yarn. The size may then vary depending on the type and weight of yarn. The elephant is approx. 22 cm tall. The following basic materials are also needed:

• 2 black half pearls, 10 mm
